This position does not provide a telework option. Candidate must be willing to work on-site in Patuxent River, MD.

CRL provides a signing bonus and potential relocation assistance for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support efforts to develop, construct and maintain secure Wide Area Network (WAN) to support Project Engineering Team. Work with project stake holders to ensure that project needs are met while meeting DOD secure networking requirements.

Tasks Performed:

Design and execute a classified network for three different locations based on requirements
Assist in the generation an ATO package for network operational approval
Support efforts to ensure continuous security compliance for new network
Configure hardware on the network including (but not limited to) servers, routers, switches, and desktop assets.
Coordinate with engineering team to ensure all hardware and software needs are met
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues
Document troubleshooting solutions and maintain records of changes to network (including diagrams, descriptions, and configurations)
Perform upgrades, maintenance, and repairs on network equipment as needed within established DoD security guidelines
Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or integrate and improve the efficiency of current networks.
Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP.
Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.
Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.
Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
Arranging scheduled upgrades.
Investigating faults in the network.
Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
Reporting network status to key stakeholders.
Collaborate across Government and Industry teams to identify network design requirements and opportunities for leveraging existing networks.
Develop network architecture artifacts and requirements for the network environment ensuring models, emulations, simulations, digital representations, hardware, and software are interoperable.
Collaborate with Data Architects and IT/Cyber personnel to ensure the network architecture / design complies with relevant / necessary IT/Cyber methods, processes, and requirements.
Provide inputs into requirements documents and statements of work.
Establish the technology strategy and technology roadmaps for Program Office and classified programs.

Education/ Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
Candidate must have 5 years of experience in defining, developing, and implementing network architecture strategies.
Certifications: Candidate must meet the requirements of an Information Assurance Systems Architects and Engineers (IASAE) Level III as defined by DoD 8570.01-M.
Candidate must have experience providing strategic technology direction and architecture vision, encompassing an enterprise view across a large portfolio of capabilities.

Other Desired Experience:

Architecting or implementing on premise stand-alone network solutions, on premise cloud solutions, virtual desktop infrastructure, high performance computing and processing, and cross-domain solutions.
Knowledge of digital engineering and model based systems engineering.
Candidate should be proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Candidate should have demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.
Candidate should have experience working in a dynamic, schedule constrained, complex security environment.
Candidate should be proficient in multiple Operating Systems including Windows and Linux.
Candidate should be an expert knowledge of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, UDP, and routing.
Candidate should have experience with network hardware and infrastructure such as routers, hubs, servers, VPNs, and switches.
Candidate should have knowledge of firewalls and security for network security.
Candidate should have knowledge of cloud networking architecture, virtualization, and automation.
Candidate should have experience with monitoring and troubleshooting complex network issues.
Sub-netting and network segmentation experience recommended

Allowable Experience/Education Substitutions: Four (4) years relevant experience can be substituted for bachelor's degree.
