Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician (NIGHT SHIFT) based out of Tampa, FL. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this person's primary focus will be to maintain production and quality standards by ensuring the continuous operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This person will provide ongoing support to Maintenance Technicians and report issues as needed to the Department manager.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines and equipment.
  • Performs maintenance on buildings and grounds.
  • Will be able to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Will assist the Production Department with die assembly, die cleanup, startups, and shutdowns.
  • Will perform tool changes on Belling Machines and Perforators when required.
  • Will monitor stock levels of Maintenance supplies and spare parts and inform supervisor of items needing to be ordered.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

What you'll bring:

  • The minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Clean water filters on cooling and vacuum tanks
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • 1-3 years of experience doing electrical/mechanical maintenance in an industrial/ manufacturing environment
  • Must have strong Mechanical and Electrical skill sets
  • Experience with installation of machinery and equipment as well as disassembly.
  • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands, and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on a weekly or as directed
  • Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
  • Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

Within 3 months, you'll:

  • Complete any required training
  • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
  • Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
