Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $15.48 - Midpoint: $18.56 (Hourly N2)




Department/Organization: 820603 - UREC Facility Operations




Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm




Job Summary: The Irrigation Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs underground sprinkler/irrigation systems. May supervise and train other Grounds employees. Drives from site-to-site.




Additional Department Summary: Manages the upkeep, repair, and operation of all irrigation systems managed by University Recreation. Assists with maintenance and upkeep of all outdoor areas managed by University Recreation.




Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of underground electric and hydraulic irrigation system installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair experience.




Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to work on your feet, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying. Must be able to work during all climates of weather, hot, cold, rain, etc. depending on the season.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.




Skills and Knowledge: Ability to read and comprehend maps of the irrigation system. Good communication skills. Ability to operate a variety of job-related tools, equipment and machinery used in ground keeping operations including chemical supplies. Familiarity working with irrigation systems.
