We are looking for Emergency Department (ED) Manager to join our growing team! When you join our recently expanded ED, you will join the dynamic team that serves over 300 patients per day. Responsibilities: The role of the Manager is to direct, supervise and evaluate patient care performed by nursing personnel within their assigned service setting in accordance with established goals. Responsible for unit operation, scheduling, position control, staffing and coordination of the quality improvement process. Applies advanced, broad-based knowledge of nursing practice and theory, as well as advanced knowledge of the techniques of supervision, management and leadership as applied to specific nursing responsibilities. Ensures department's compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Accountabilities
• Manages the development, implementation and evaluation of program/clinic goals, objectives, polices, procedures and standards of care which contribute to the achievement of quality patient care and strategic plans. Monitors and maintains service area targets vs. actual performance to meet operational goals.
• Assigns, directs and reviews the work of subordinates. Evaluates and develops work methods, procedures, work flow and standards for quality and quantity of work.
• Ensures operational continuity in ambulatory areas on a daily basis. Manages staffing and scheduling functions to achieve department objectives, cost effective staffing, and productivity targets.
• Accountable for program/clinic development and monitoring. Conducts financial analysis as needed including cost/benefit evaluation of new services and equipment.
• Facilitates staff and management team communication. Ensures communication from administration is translated into operational functions. Serves as interdepartmental liaison with other services.
• Acts as a liaison between providers and management. Communicates changes in operations. Formulates planning in accordance with administration and provider goals.
• Communicates operational needs to ambulatory education/development department for assistance.
• Ensures quality of care is monitored and performance improvement issues are prioritized and addressed.
• Administers state, federal and other certificate programs including grant application development, contract processing, operational implementation and compliance monitoring.
• Monitors, evaluates and improves patient, staff and physician satisfaction.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory standards including, but not limited to, professional practice standards, Joint Commission, Title 22 and the California State Nurse Practice Act.
• May perform patient care activities within the RN scope of practice.
• Monitors and evaluates population management. Oversees/coordinates collection and analysis of data and develops/revises programs based on findings.
• Directly responsible (with support from Human Resources) for employee engagement and people management processes including interviewing and selection, time and attendance approval, providing timely feedback and performance evaluations, employee development, employee retention, disciplinary actions and terminations.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

MINIMUM REQUIRED: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing or successful completion of sufficient units in nursing to qualify for state licensure. Demonstrated expertise in emergency services in an acute care hospital. Approximately three to five years of leadership experience in emergency services in an acute care hospital.

PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIRED: Current California Registered Nurse license. Current BLS certification.
