The Head of Talent Acquisition - North America, leads the North American Talent Acquisition team and partners with business leaders, hiring managers and HR Business Partners to provide seamless service and support, and deliver the Talent Acquisition strategy for the North American region (United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico), created in partnership with our customers. This position will be seated in Cary, NC and is not open to fully remote work.

Your responsibilities

  • Serve and support the talent acquisition needs of the business and partner with them on talent acquisition strategies, processes, and programs
  • Implement and continuously optimize and improve HR Talent Acquisition processes and procedures to ensure delivery of business talent acquisition needs
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations and internal HR policies
  • Develop and implement regional and local talent acquisition and employer branding programs aligned with our customer's needs. Support both early career talent program and professionals hiring, strengthening ABB's employer brand and position ABB as an employer of choice in the region
  • Provide early insights and recommendations for potential issues by proactively managing an end-to-end data driven recruiting and metrics dashboard
  • Maintain a high performance and data driven culture. Analyzing and leverage internal KPIs, market data and trends to pro-actively propose solutions to the businesses, enhance candidate experience and nurture talent pools and a healthy talent pipeline for the future
  • Lead a highly motivated, innovative and business focused multilocation/virtual team. Be a strong advocate for internal career development and diversity, ensuring adoption of modern, digital tools, maintaining peer review of best practice and provide career growth
  • Develop and ensure adherence to agreed financial plans and budgets, including right sizing the team to their workload and variability
  • Manage vendor relationships at the region level, instructing service providers and monitoring quality and cost of delivery
  • Guide, motivate, and develop team members within HR policies
  • Feed back to the local team and leaders on the experience of implementing group tools and processes in the region and ensures learnings are incorporated into future program/process design
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to track current and future talent requirements, advising on effective solutions, and fostering high quality internal and external talent pipelines across early talent and established professionals
  • Be an active member of the Global TA leadership community leading business relevant and value add projects regionally and globally, example: focused on enhancing customer experience, driving process efficiency or increasing diversity and inclusion

Your background

  • Experienced Talent Acquisition leader with a bachelor's degree in business, HR or related field required, master's degree preferred, with minimum 15 years of Talent Acquisition and managerial experience in the North America region
  • Track record of defining, implementing and driving Talent Acquisition strategy, processes and technology
  • Strategic mindset with a thorough understanding of business drivers and Talent Acquisition trends, both globally and within North America
  • Strong analytical thinking and business acumen to lead the Talent Acquisition team, aligned with the business strategies
  • Strong end-to-end process thinking and ability to leverage technology effectively to drive and improve efficient Talent Acquisition processes and source and attract business critical talent
  • Experience in managing and leading change projects
  • Excellent relationship building and collaboration capabilities with the ability to work closely with business and HR leaders
  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial, innovative, resilient, adaptable, enthusiastic and inclusive; able to motivate and develop employees, while creating or responding constructively to business needs and challenging new ideas and inputs
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with fluency in English as a must, French is considered an advantage
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
