Registered Nurse I - CVICU - Nights Norman Regional Health System Overview: In our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, we maintain a fast pace to meet the needs of those in the most acute phases of cardiac disease. Common procedures/diagnosis seen in our unit include post open heart surgery, severe decompensated heart failure/cardiogenic shock, STEMI, aortic dissection, and acute severe valvular dysfunction. Our unit also provides immediate specialized care to other severe and critically ill patients, including respiratory and cardiac failure, sepsis, renal failure, induced hypothermia, and continuous renal replacement therapy. Our Nurses demonstrate highly advanced skills in patient assessment/ intervention, teamwork, and crisis management. We orient new nurses to our unit by providing a 12 week orientation with a dedicated preceptor team complemented by a program of critical care courses and a nurse residency program for new graduates. Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Licensure/Certification
Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training is required within 6 months of hire.
