This position is for a Network Performance entry level role in the Verizon Global Network & Technology organization. In this role you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing and addressing RAN and core network performance problems; troubleshooting and resolving customer issues. You will also assist with monitoring and analyzing performance and KPIs; detecting, solving and continuously improving overall network performance and associated metrics. You will test the performance of wireless networks and communication products; automating testing processes. You will be responsible for evaluating the network KPI trends, monitoring alarms and working on the upgrade of the network with new technologies and elements.

As a Network Performance Engineer you will:

  • Run reports and monitor network, identifying areas that fail to meet KPIs established by the business.

  • Utilize existing methods for resolving network performance issues in order to improve the overall network's performance and associated metrics.

  • Investigate identified issues within the network and provide possible recommendations.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to deploy solutions into the network.

  • Run tests on the network's performance to verify the deployment of network solutions.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

In this hybrid full time position, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid role will be based out of Irving, TX.

You'll need to have:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree majoring in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or related majors with a completion date of June 2024.

  • Coursework or demonstrated experience in Python, Java and C++.

  • Coursework or experience in Network Architecture or RF Design.

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

  • Willingness to travel and work in Irving, TX.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite

  • Experience in Web Application Development Python, C#, Java, Linux, HTML, statistical software, and/or software quality assurance.

  • Experience in Database Management systems (e.g. SQL).

  • Experience in Cloud Enabled Kubernetes, Doker, OpenShift, cloud computing, and/or distributed file systems.

  • Ability to work with/in Development Methods object-oriented programming.

  • Ability to work with/in UX Design wireframes, visual & graphic designs, and prototypes.

  • Ability to work with/in Software SW development and AQ reliability engineering.
