As a Personnel Security Administrator (PSA) at Arete, you are responsible for managing the day-to-day personnel security operations for Areté to ensure adherence to government regulations. The PSA will be responsible for the onboarding process, including conducting prescreen calls, vetting, onboarding, coordinating with local FSOs and CPSOs on program submittals and database administration. This position may be remote, but ideally the successful candidate will be located within 50 miles of an Areté facility. You must be highly motivated, a self-starter who likes to be organized and build relationships. In this role, you will be an important part of the Areté Security Team and must be able to work within a team environment. This position may be remote, but the successfully candidate must be geographically located within 50 miles of an Areté facility. This position may require some travel to other company locations. This is an exempt, non-supervisory, full-time position.
  • Utilize Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  • Utilize National Background Investigation Services (NBIS).
  • Serve as the focal point for all Security prescreen calls to all candidates. Use the call script, which shall be reviewed and updated annually, as required.
  • Initiate and review security clearance packages for accuracy and completeness, conduct fingerprints in a timely manner.
  • Verify the appropriate level of background investigation being requested, and ensure all documents required for processing have been properly completed and submitted.
  • Track and maintain all Personnel Security (PERSEC) information to include clearance status, security training records, personnel information files and visit certification (VAR).
  • Implement visitor control procedures ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and company policies. Process Classified Visit Requests.
  • Provide security education briefings / debriefings in coordination with FSOs.
  • If applicable, and under direction of security management, investigate and review security violations, recommending corrective actions.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company regarding Personnel Security, protecting PII.
  • Responsible for tracking all security training across each location and work with FSOs and CPSOs to ensure all training has been completed. Review and eliminate duplicate training that is not program specific.
  • Administer and coordinate security activities in accordance with company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal security regulations, directives, and manuals for safeguarding National Security Information regarding Personnel Security.
  • Responsible for the annual Security Fair in coordination with the Security Management Team.
  • Updated and maintaining the PERSEC and Visitor Control modules of the SIMS database.
  • Ability to utilize Department of Defense systems and applications, which may include: DISS, NISS (ISFD, OBMS, SWIFT, STEPP and eFCL), and ACCS.

Experiences and Background We Require
  • U. S Citizenship Required
  • 8 years security experience with high school diploma; 6 years security experience with Bachelors.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI and SAP access if required
  • Experience in DoD, SCI, and SAP personnel security policies, procedures, directives, and requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of NISPOM, CFR 32, Part 117, and the aspects specific to the execution of the Industrial Security Program.
  • Proficient knowledge of identified security domains – Collateral, SCI & SAP.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; Attention to detail
  • Proficient to strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to effectively multi-task to obtain objectives,
  • Self-Starter requiring minimal supervision.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $105,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.

Other Requirements

U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.

Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Successful passage of a criminal background screen is required to meet position eligibility. Areté will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring.

Successful passage of a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test is required to meet position eligibility.
