Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Marketing Specialist IV to join our East Region Marketing team. This position will be a key member of our busy team responsible for pre-positioning activities and leading preparation of winning proposals for various infrastructure projects for our Transportation business. This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules with an expectation to go into an AECOM office periodically. This role can based in, but not limited to, Arlington, VA; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; New York City; Raleigh, NC; Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL.

This role must exhibit a high level of integrity and professionalism, and display excellent leadership, time-management, and strong communication skills (both oral and written). Must be able to work effectively in rapidly changing environment with multiple deadlines.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Interface with operations to win work and to manage the information infrastructure that enables the business to do so efficiently.
  • Leads the marketing functions, including strategy development and execution, from pre-RFP positioning through to interview stage.
  • Provides leadership and direction for large and strategic proposals, including compliance matrices, content planning, outlines/templates, proposal review and production schedules, and production.
  • Participates in go/no-go and greenlight analyses in compliance with delegation of authority guidelines, capture planning and positioning activities.
  • Facilitates pink and red team, quality reviews, and applies lessons learned to add value to proposals. Manages the implementation of proposal and presentation revisions based on direction from review teams.
  • Write qualification-based sections of proposals including resumes, project descriptions, and other general information materials. Provides grammatical and technical editing to ensure quality.
  • Provides conceptual leadership for document design, while ensuring RFP instructions and internal brand guidelines pertaining to format, fonts, etc. are being followed.
  • Supports debriefs and gathering of client feedback on proposals to ensure and demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Maintains marketing data and generates relevant reports.
  • Interface with BD and technical staff at all levels of the organization to win work. Lead in the development of capture planning, win themes, and differentiators.
  • Performs advanced assignments requiring independent decisions and resolves problems using an exceptional degree of ingenuity.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or a related field + 6 years of progressively responsible experience in the A/E industry collaborating within a regional marketing team to lead and/or support proposal activity with key client and strategic pursuits in support of winning work or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • A strong working knowledge of word processing programs (e.g., Microsoft Word), spreadsheet management (Excel), presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint), and desktop publishing software and graphics programs (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Acrobat).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Twelve (12) years of experience in the A/E industry collaborating within a regional marketing team to lead proposal activity with key client and strategic pursuits in support of winning work.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a leadership position, including managing and overseeing staff.
  • Strong, demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • A detailed knowledge of marketing best practices and procedures, work processes, and tools.
  • A developed understanding of effective proposal and presentation writing and production.
  • Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E industry, including AECOM's projects, people, credentials, and competitors.
  • A working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.
  • Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and with others.
  • Proven organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to complete varied work tasks on schedule, and lead deliverable efforts by others; and the proven ability to manage documents.
  • Initiative, skill, and personal commitment to manage multiple projects and details concurrently, follow up, and bring tasks and projects to full completion.
  • APMP/SMPS certification is a plus.
  • Experience with alternative delivery (design-build and public-private-partnership) proposals is a plus.

  • Offered rate of compensation (Massachusetts Locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $87k - $140k annually.
