About the Opportunity

Saulteau First Nations is looking for a full-time IT Operations Manager based in Chetwynd, BC. A hybrid work model is available for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role oversees, manages, and develops the IT systems and infrastructure of Saulteau First Nations, and is crucial for aligning IT strategies with organizational goals.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Developing and implementing IT strategies
Managing IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and systems
Leading a team of IT professionals
Providing technical support and developing support processes
Negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships
Supporting the development and management of the IT budget
Developing IT policies and procedures for security and resource use
Coordinating IT projects and facilitating professional development for the IT team

About You

To qualify, you should have 3+ years of experience as an IT technician, with a preference for candidates who also have IT management experience. Ideally, you will possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or have equivalent experience in a technical field.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

CompTIA Project+ Certification
ITIL Foundation Certification
Microsoft Certified
Proven experience with IT infrastructure and security
Proven ability to identify problems and bring in external resources if necessary
Capability to hire, train, and oversee IT Technicians
Ability to handle confidential information delicately
Familiarity with First Nation communities (asset)
Municipal experience (asset)
A relevant Master's degree (asset)
