Summary of Duties:

Responsible for implementing, supporting and maintaining the information technology and telecommunications infrastructure for the Hospital Division. Responsible for working with end-users, vendors, as well as, other staff to resolve information technology issues over the telephone, or remote access or on-site as they relate to computer, server, networking, mobile devices, and other device repairs, operating system and software configuration.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Implement, repair and trouble shoot computers, switches and other networking equipment.

2. Install, configure, reload and restore currently supported Windows server operating system.

3. Assist in troubleshooting configuration, and maintaining patient accounting systems.

4. Implement, support, maintain and secure domain controllers and other servers such as DHCP, DNS, application and file/print servers as needed for Hospital Division.

5. Install, configure, troubleshoot networking equipment such as switches, layer 3 switches, wireless access points, routers, and firewalls.

6. Update endpoints with end point protection and response software as well as operating system patches, weekly at minimum or daily if needed.

7. Assist Director of IT other IT staff in securing Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI).

8. Assist Director of IT in implementing site-to-site Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution. Able to trouble shoot firewall and router problems including down internet connections, Virtual Private Network tunnels not connecting and opening ports via an access-list.

9. Assist with upgrades, configuration and support needs of the Hospital Division patient accounting, billing and pharmacy system (CPSI).

10. Liaise between Hospital facility staff and biomed vendors on biomed system networking related issues for support and replacement where asked.

11. Works with vendor(s), facility staff and other IT staff to assist installation or support of interfaces between the patient accounting system and medication cabinets or other systems.

12. Configure and maintain secure wireless networks for business use, as well as, working with vendors on public/resident wifi network support.

13. Assist in providing technical guidance and support to facility staff.

14. Install Microsoft Windows current supported desktop operating systems.

15. Create and modify Group Policy Objects in a Windows Active Directory.

16. Respond to inquiries on the help desk and remotely assist users with problems.

17. Log all requested and completed work into the help desk software application.

18. Create purchase orders and capital expenditure requests for all Hospital Division IT capital needed.

19. Perform other duties as needed by the Director of IT.

Education:

Associate’s degree or equivalent in computer science or a related field required. Certified on Microsoft Desktop and Server operating systems (MCSA or equivalent) required. Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems as well as additional networking certifications such as Network + or CCNA, preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of four (4) years experience as network engineer or network administrator support and a minimum of two (2) years experience with cisco networking or similar equipment required.
