The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller will hold a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy, guaranteeing stability, and propelling the growth of the organisation. Your knack for technical financial accounting, management accounting, governance and change / process optimisation will be instrumental in enhancing the organisation. Duties will include, but not be limited to:-
Management Reporting:Prepare monthly management accounts with comprehensive variance analysis and commentary.
Financial Accounting:Manage the month-end close process and oversee income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:Partner with internal stakeholders to prepare the annual budget and maintain rolling reforecasts. Additionally, prepare regular cash flow forecasts.
Financial Analysis:Provide insightful P&L analysis to support operational decision-making.
Operational Finance:Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
Cost Control:Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenses.
Compliance:Ensure strict compliance with all relevant financial regulations, compliance requirements, and tax laws to ensure the organisation's adherence to relevant rules and regulations. Embed governance practices.
Leadership:Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support for professional growth and development.
Financial Systems and Processes:Continuously improve financial systems and processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
Skills and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Commerce, coupled with CA/CPA qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Management Accounting, Budgeting, and Financial Analysis
Prior experience in Retail, FMCG, or QSR sectors highly advantageous
A highly numerate approach with unwavering attention to detail and an impressive ability to interpret data is key
Advanced proficiency in Excel, prior experience with Oracle advantageous
