The company is well established, highly respected and has achieved formidable growth in recent years. And they care about their staff too. So much so that they’re currently transitioning to an entirely employee owned business model. They’ve tasked us with sourcing their Financial Controller, a brand new role that sits below a highly experienced Finance Director but with strong potential for the successful candidate to succeed this person (2-3 year action plan). This is a full permanent, full time opportunity that can offer hybrid and flexible working potential for the right candidate.
This is a pivotal role within the company and one where the successful candidate will work closely with the existing Finance Director, assuming key operational responsibility for the day-to-day success of the finance function. The successful candidate will be also assume frontline support of a small but experienced accounting team. Key features of the role to include:
- Lead responsibility for transactional accounting protocols and maintaining robust internal controls
- Management of a small but experienced team including an accomplished Assistant Accountant
- Work closely with the Finance Director across all aspects of the company’s ongoing financial strategy and growth projects
- Production of weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports
- Allocation of frequently complex income and funding streams
- Work with FD to produce high quality budget packs
- Treasury controls
- Cost controls
- Ensure compliance to all relevant reporting standards
- Identify and implement improvements to the function
- Production and delivery of detailed management accounts
- Assist with annual audits
- Deputise for FD during periods of absence
- Oversee payroll for almost 200 staff

ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a world-class Senior Finance & Accounting Manager to manage a variety of accounting and finance management tasks at Cozymeal. The individual in this role is expected to be experienced enough to own individual projects and work independently with limited supervision.
The individual in this role will be working directly with the company's CEO. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to own and execute on projects end-to-end and doesn't shy away from asking questions whenever something is not clear.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure timely completion of company’s monthly/annual books
Organize and manage all finances of the company
Work with the CEO on all financial matters
Monitor daily financial transactions
Help prepare the company's tax filings
Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
Manage and monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable
Manage the process of issuing 1099s for contractors each January
Manage the company's correspondence with vendors, clients, etc.
Manage the company's relationship with other entities such insurance companies, landlords, etc.
Assist the company's CEO with preparing reports, presentations, etc.
Assist attorneys in managing capitalization tables and equity awards.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
Licensed CPA with 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
2+ years of experience in an administrative role
Experience handling the preparation and filing of sales tax returns
Very detail-oriented and ability to review reports to look for errors and to create reports without errors
Strong analytical skills
In-depth experience with Quickbooks online
Strong written and spoken communication skills. In particular, ability to make phone calls and write proper emails + letters on behalf the company
Must be willing to work full-time (40 hours per week)
