Overview

The Email Marketing Strategist I will: Ensure maximization of email marketing in support of achieving product goals and objectives. This role will pay particular focus to email marketing strategy and assist in email development, net new strategy development, quality assurance, on-going campaign optimizations, and reporting of email campaigns. Role will require the ability to apply internal and external marketing insights, data-driven strategy, and enterprise goals to guide and evolve both campaigns and initiatives to drive results. Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end email effort for assigned business area/products and ensure timely activation of promotional email content.
• Identify email best practices and drive development, implementation, and reporting of email campaign performance to increase overall effectiveness.
• Evaluate and report on email campaign performance, test results/learnings, and data insights to the product marketing group, business units, cross-functional partners, and all levels of leadership.
• Identify email data insights and dynamic content optimizations that increase efficiency, increase one-to-one email personalization, and drive product adoption/engagement.
• Foster exploration and development of new email strategies and deployment opportunities as it pertains to increased one-to-one personalization.
• Contribute to product marketing roadmap(s) by supporting the strategy around email campaign execution and testing.
• Support cross-functional leads in strategizing on the implementation of a wide range of data-driven marketing initiatives including member insights, audience selection, trigger qualification, suppressions, and segmentation as it pertains to email marketing.
• Support business-critical processes such as compliance review, marketing metrics, project management systems, agile processes, and stakeholder approvals as it pertains to timely email activation.
• Define, implement, and record email process improvements to increase efficiency and agility.
• Collaborate and communicate with key corporate stakeholders, including Business Units as appropriate, with education on email marketing concepts, process and tools, and opportunities.
• Basic knowledge of Navy Federal's brand, products and services, research, and competitive trends, in addition to member insights, to support marketing forecasting, third party vendors and opportunities that drive business goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Major contributor to email strategy with minor contributions and understanding of overall marketing campaign development that drive results toward business priorities and goals.
• Experience in supporting and developing email marketing strategy/campaigns with business risk and impact; to include strategy, execution, innovation, problem solving, and decision-making.
• Strong knowledge of email marketing, sophisticated email service providers (ESPs), email compliance, spam regulation, and best practices for email design and deliverability.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal direction; possesses appropriate tactfulness and assertiveness to problem-solve and propose changes in team processes.
• Basic understanding of how to synthesize results of analyses, develop and make recommendations using quantity and quality data to solve unique and complex problems.
• Experience formulating performance and customer insights from analytics and presenting to stakeholders.
• Experience with identifying marketing segments or personas and delivering custom content to audience accordingly.
• Experience identifying messaging and/or content opportunities for internal and/or competitive analysis.
• Working knowledge of financial and marketing industry trends, products, and services
• Experience with PCs and related software packages as well as learning different collaboration and product management tools
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Marketing, Strategy, Business, Finance, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Desired Qualifications

• Hands on experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud email service provider (content builder, journey builder, automation studio).
• Experience with and understanding of email marketing automation best practices, and experience with email service provider integration with marketing automation tool.
• Hands on experience in Workfront, Azure Dev Ops (ADO), or similar project management tools.
• Basic understanding of Tableau or similar analytic tools.
• Working knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies, procedures, and systems to launch and drive campaigns.
• Working knowledge of Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations, and organizational objectives.
