Position Summary

As part of the Donor Relations team within MSU Denver's

University Advancement division, the Donor Relations Coordinator is critical to the team's success in delivering an exceptional donor experience across the University. The Donor Relations Coordinator will be responsible for establishing and expanding systems to track, thank, and connect our donors with the MSU Denver mission. This position reports to the Director of Donor Relations. This a 2-year term-limited position, slated to end in Summer of 2026.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and will be experienced in handling a wide range of logistics-related tasks. Participating in a variety of projects, the successful candidate must be exceedingly well-organized, systems-oriented, and have a strong attention to detail.

Duties/Responsibilities

40% Systems Support and Management

  • Re-establish and manage scholarship review process, including communications and outreach to a wide range of reviewers, tracking scholarship applications, application numbers, and reviewing needs through Awards Management Software.
  • Create and maintain event attendees lists, working with the Director of Donor Relations and Gift Officers to track attendee information and follow ups.
  • Support the tracking for naming opportunities, working with the Director of Donor Relations to ensure the system is clear and accessible to all stakeholders.
  • Create streamlined process for incoming requests to the DR team, working with the Director of DR to prioritize and assign requests.
  • In partnership with the Assistant Director of Donor Relations, track and onboard new Society Members, entering them into a pipeline of regular communication.

30% Communication Support

  • Create donor impact reports for Scholarship Endowments and Annual Scholarship funds, working with the Assistant Director of Donor Relations to keep donors apprised of their scholarship funds.
  • Work with campus partners, students, and the Assistant of Donor Relations to maintain a system for regular updates and communication.

10% Fund Management Systems Support

  • Train on fund management requests to support the creation of new, streamlined systems and increase efficiency in partnership with the Director of Donor Relations.

5% Professional Development

  • Continue professional growth, finding industry best-practices and efficiencies to bring back to their work.

5% Other Duties as Assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Commitment to the mission and vision of MSU Denver
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of experience in data-management or coordination, college or university coursework may be substituted on a year-by-year basis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate in a team-setting.
  • Proven track record of strong organizational skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel sheets.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines without compromising quality or attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience
  • Familiarity with MSU Denver
  • Professional experience working in a non-profit, government, or higher education environment
  • Previous project management experience
  • Experience using a donor database or stewardship software, such as Blackbaud Raiser's Edge Awards Management.

Work Hours M-F 8:00am-5:00pm

Note: This position is eligible for a hybrid (remote/in-person) work schedule as job responsibilities allow.

Salary for Announcement

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $46,350-$52,000
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
