We are expanding our fixed income trading capabilities and are looking for the right addition to our trading team. UBS Asset Management is a $3T asset management firm with $400 billion under management in fixed income. The successful candidate will be supporting a diverse set of strategies including unconstrained global bond, actively managed, asset allocation, passive and ETF. This role involves not only trading but the analyzation of markets, data, and the improvement of tools and processes. We're more interested in how you think and learn than in what you've done so far.
provide high quality execution services across all segments of Fixed Income
work closely with our IT team to help improve our tools and platforms
provide analysis of transaction costs and operational risks across multiple asset classes
provide portfolio managers with market color and feedback that would normally be gained from facing the markets themselves
address administrative issues in support of trading activities, liaison with trading operations
ensure the trading desk is compliant and follows all market regulations
develop and maintain essential external relationships as required for best execution
work with internal trading technology and data analysis teams to innovate systems, trading analytics and coordinate implementation

Your team
UBS Asset Management is hiring a Fixed Income/Multi Asset Trader within the U.S. Central Trading team. The successful candidate will be trading across the asset class spectrum of macro products with focus on Fixed Income; including but not limited to cash rates, credit, Emerging Markets, as well as listed and OTC non-linear derivatives. This will be an important role on the centralized team; the trader will face a steep learning curve in supporting and providing back-up to an existing, fast paced desk. This role will play an integral part within the large scale transformation change program for UBS Asset Management, as we transform our execution platform and implement a more systematic and straight through approach.
Your expertise
bachelors or higher degree in a quantitative based discipline, advanced degree preferred
7+ years of buy side trading experience with an investment manager including automated and portfolio trading and smart order routing skills
strong knowledge of trade execution technology and analytical tools
detailed knowledge of market micro-structure
excellent communication skills to work with diverse stakeholders and drive decision making
ability to work within a global team construct
strong analytical and creative skills to solve complex problems
