What we're looking for: We are seeking a motivated professional responsible for managing the day-to-day governance of the Board with guidance from the Director. The Manager: Foundation Volunteer Relations will develop and organize Board agenda materials and create schedules for meetings of the Board of Directors throughout the year, as well as be responsible for the administration of Foundation committees, and direction of Foundation external communications.

What you'll do:

  1. Support the Director of the Foundation and Board of Trustees (BOT) in facilitating the operational and strategic planning activities essential to meet overall objectives of the Foundation
  2. Work with the Director in the development of BOT meeting agendas and coordination of meeting materials
  3. Oversee the coordination of all on-site BOT meeting arrangements, in collaboration with the Meetings Department, and reimbursement of Board members
  4. Develop agenda timelines and oversee development of BOT meeting agendas. Provide first round reviews and edit all reports to the BOT. Attend meetings of the BOT and provide management support for the Board, including preparation of “to-do” lists, minutes, Board communications and draft reports to the RSNA Board of Directors.
  5. Manage the arrangements and preparation of materials for new BOT Chair and new trustee orientation sessions
  6. Provide project management for the Foundation’s quarterly Foundation Focus publication-newsletter, including story identification, development, layout, timeline management, writing and editing
  7. Work with RSNA Communications staff to draft grant funding press release. Draft press releases for use by Vanguard companies in promoting grants
  8. Draft other Foundation promotional messages as needed
  9. Develop timeline and manage the Foundation committee appointment process: the solicitation of recommendations for open committee positions; the development of reports with background information on recommended individuals; correspondence with committee chairs, R&E committee staff and Board of Trustee Liaisons, and maintenance of date in Personify
  10. Work with internal department to ensure all suggestions and nominations are included in Personify
  11. Perform annual review of committee rosters and charges to ensure information is accurate and represents current scope and make-up of each committee
  12. Work with Executive Department to maintain consistency of procedures from the Board of Directors to the Board of Trustees and in all committee processes when applicable
  13. Serve as staff liaison to the Foundation’s Public Relations Committee; work with committee to perform review and identify outcomes from R&E funded grant projects that can be leveraged to promote the Foundation
  14. Assist the Director with activities of administrative and ad hoc committees
  15. Maintain the Foundation policy manual and bylaws
  16. Perform other duties as assigned

 

What you'll need:

  • Prior association or nonprofit experience preferred
  • Experience working with committees or volunteers preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with staff and volunteer leadership
  • Proficiency with database software
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time
  • Good judgment, problem-solving ability and project management skills
