A Staff Accountant’s role is responsible for carrying out aspects of the daily accounting functions for BCI Construction, Inc. This will include AP processing, Credit Card functions, and general ledger functions. You will be tasked with carrying out financial activities and processes according to the standards of quality set by BCI.
Pay: starting at $23.00 an hour depending on experience
Schedule: In office 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
Primary Duties:
- Prepare weekly Accounts Payable review and process payments
- Generate checks timely for all payables.
- Assist in month-end and general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with year-end schedules
- Credit card processing to include monthly receipt reconciliation.
- Provide backup and support in other areas of the finance department as needed
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Requirements:
- Strong professional communication skills in person, by phone, and email
- Ability to read and cross-reference a multitude of information
- Ability to speak the English Language competently
- Ability to work successfully with a multitude of team members
- Working knowledge of GAAP principles, practices and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Possess a strong moral compass (as represented by BCI’s Core Values)
Education & Training Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s Degree in finance or accounting (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Microsoft Outlook, Word, Xcel and accounting software proficient
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Preferred 2-5 Years of accounting experience
