As senior behavioral scientist, you will play a primary role in the design and development of new health interventions and tools, ensuring that we apply evidence- and practice- based approaches to support positive behavior change. The immediate focus will be on the development of mobile applications designed to help patients manage chronic conditions and adopt behavioral strategies that can improve those conditions. In that context, you will edit, author, and shape in-app content to ensure it is imbued with proven behavior change approaches. In conjunction with design, software engineering, and others, you will also develop robust, personalized goal-setting functionality within our app that lends itself to gamification. To complement these efforts, you will develop and track the performance of a "nudge" campaign designed to promote app engagement and ultimately patient adherence to self-monitoring and self-management innovationOchsner (iO), we leverage technology in novel ways in order to improve the lives of healthcare professionals, patients and our community. We provide advanced, data-driven tools to transform care delivery while enhancing quality and patient experience. The impact we have sets a model for healthcare systems nationwide. As part of iO, you will work with a multidisciplinary team of renowned clinicians, data scientists, biomedical and software engineers, and others to build out our solution portfolio. To succeed here, it's essential that you have a "start-up" mentality and the sensibility of a scientist. You must be comfortable wearing many hats and be eager to try new, as-yet-to-be imagined technologies. You will treat (usage) data as a gift and pivot as human-centered design dictates. But you will also approach every intervention with rigor and scientific scrutiny, identifying and managing key metrics that will determine the effectiveness of the solutions and inform future enhancements.Education* Required - Master's in Psychology, Public Health, Health Informatics or related field* Preferred - PhD in Psychology, Public Health or related fieldWork ExperienceRequired - 5 years of experience implementing behavior change techniques in digital and technology-based solutions.Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)* Experience developing and evaluating behavior change interventions* Experience developing digital health applications* Excellent with user experience design* Ability to convey complex data in a meaningful way to diverse audiences* Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information* Strong interpersonal skillsJob Duties* Lead cross-functional teams to identify project requirements and desired outcomes* Identify appropriate behavior change process and tactics and manage and design the implementation* Responsible for outcomes of behavior change processes developed by evidence-based and practice-based research* Create and manage key metrics that will determine effectiveness of product solutions and enhancements* Other related duties as requiredThe above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
