The Job

The International Supply Chain Manager position is critical to develop, manage, and maintain fulfillment order processes end to end in support of AIH retailers as well as Ace Domestic retailers in Alaska & Hawaii. This role will work cross functionally with AIH Sales, Customer Service, Ace Domestic RSCs, AIH RDC, and AIH Logistics/Compliance team to ensure customers are being serviced from the most optimal and cost-effective locations and lead continuous improvement efforts to advance the customer experience and drive organizational growth.

The International Supply Chain Manager will lead the Ningbo RDC and Replenishment Planning teams plus serve as the Supply Chain conduit into Import and AIH merchandising teams around operational aspects of Supply Chain, such as optimal case pack quantities, packaging, labeling, etc.


What you’ll do:

  • Lead cross functional teams to develop and define new policies and procedures for Int’l customer fulfillment that ensures compliance with regulations and enhancing overall efficiency to meet customer requirements while maintaining cost effectiveness.
  • Develop Supply Chain cost model for AIH Retailers and partner with AIH sales team to achieve lowest landed cost to support the Retailers business.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to provide ability to scale export order fulfillment. This represents large IT spend and setting future direction for commercial offerings for Ace Int’l customers.  
  • Monitor and manage Ace Int’l retailer orders from sales order entry, traffic planning, warehouse pick and load, invoice creation, warehouse pick up or freight forwarder delivery. Goal being to develop SOP’s ensuring compliance with all required parties and managing/escalating per need. Work with Retail Support Center leadership team to ensure Ace Export volumes achieves superior service and cost supporting AIH customers.
  • Monitor and own customer fulfillment KPIs including but not limited to on time delivery, fill rate, order lead time, and quality/claims for both US RSC and Ningbo RDC.  
  • Be the link into Ace Corporate and Ace Retail Support Centers for Ace Mexico Supply Chain Team and Ace Shanghai Supply Chain Team.
  • Lead AIH replenishment planning team for Ningbo RDC. Establish and manage KPIs including customer service level and inventory turns.
  • Lead Ningbo RDC Supply Chain Team. Establish and manage operational KPIs including but not limited to labor productivity, inventory loss, on time delivery to customers, etc.  
  • Analyze critical metrics of the international business to surface financial concerns/ramifications of key decisions made (industry mix of customers, cost to serve of high touch customers, return rates) and drive profitability improvements for AIH.
  • Manage the Supply Chain Analyst – Lead. Establish their goals, continuous improvement path and facilitate relationship with other departments.
  • Develop the framework and mechanism for freight rates applied to Ace Int’l Retailer accounts, and also how financial recoupment is accomplished around int’l customer deliveries/pickups. This will entail close engagement with Ace Corp Traffic, Ace RSC Traffic, AIH Sales Team, AIH Logistics and Compliance team.
  • Work cross functionally with AIH Logistics & Compliance team, Domestic RSCs, AIH Customer Service, AIH Sales, and Ace IT teams to resolve any issues that arise. Be the Supply Chain escalation point when and if AIH customers concerns need resolution.
  • Ensure accurate set up of customer master information, delivery frequency, and delivery rates for all AIH customers (900+).
  • Lead supply chain review of AIH merchandising initiatives and ensure product planning & sourcing activity is aligned with optimal warehousing and fulfillment requirements.
  • Provide support and training to AIH Sales and customer service teams to ensure a strong understanding of system functionality. Challenge new customer prospects when AIH’s foundation cannot meet their requirements.
  • Establish ordering procedure to support new business / conversion business to Ace. Partner with AIH Sales to simplify this effort for the AIH Customer.  

What you will need:

Experience and Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience including:
    • 3 years’ experience in Ace’s Supply Chain, with preferred in-depth knowledge of the entire Ace Supply Chain from order creation and receipt of product to order fulfillment.2 years’ experience in Inventory Management
  • 2 years’ experience working with AIH preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience in Ace Merchandising strongly preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience in Global Sourcing, with desired experience in Asia Supply base preferred.
  • 2 years in International Transportation preferred.
  • Experience in Distribution options and import tax implications: Bonded, Free Trade Zones, etc.
  • Strong financial acumen, and ability to develop total landed cost models that encompass various complexities including manufacturing, import tax, distribution, and transportation.
  • Experience with various ERPs and cloud-based SaaS programs is recommended.
  • Analytical and critical thinking with ability to effectively analyze complex data & situations.
  • Ability to engage and influence up to President, SVP, and VP level.
  • Strong relationship development at Retail Support Director and Regional VP of Distribution levels
  • Appropriately strong willed in order to integrate new concepts and processes both internally and externally.
  • Ability to drive business improvement to enable the operation to scale.
  • Ability to adapt a multi-year sourcing and distribution strategy to align AIH customer future needs.
  • Proven track record of being self-motivated, making solid informed decisions, manage cross functionality relationships and successfully meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to leverage technology tools to manipulate vast amounts of data.
