Korean Education Center

The Center, located in the Korean Consulate General in Chicago, was founded in 1981 and has been successfully providing and promoting education about Korean language, history, and culture for fellow Koreans residing in the thirteen Midwest states.

The Midwest has been well-known to be more highly interested in education than any other part of the world, and many residents, at approximately 130 Korean schools located in the area, learn with passion the language and culture of the Motherland, firmly establishing their identity in building and becoming important part of the future mainstream society.

The Center engages in various tasks such as supporting Korean schools and international students, offering Korean language classes both outside and in public school curricula, launching and managing English Program in Korea (EPIK and TaLK), and collecting data of well-developed education systems.
