Young Audiences/Arts for Learning, founded in Baltimore in 1950, is the country’s foremost arts-in-education nonprofit organization. The Maryland chapter of Young Audiences (YA) provides more than 9,000 educational arts experiences opportunities for students, artists, and educators throughout the state each year.

 

Job Description:  

The Program Associate position is a full time position (40 hours per week), providing support to the Program Department and will occasionally require the associate to work early morning and evening events.  This is an entry level position with a starting salary in the high $20,000's and includes an extensive benefits package.  This position reports to the Program Director.

 

Requirements:  

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, if not meticulous, and should be a self-starter and have excellent communication and customer service skills.  This individual must be able to effectively manage a portfolio of reoccurring daily tasks, annual projects, and incoming assignments.  A Bachelor’s Degree or higher is preferred.  Experience in education, arts, or program administration is also preferred.  A passion for arts education and experience with data entry and Microsoft Excel is required.  Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus. 

 

Program Associate Responsibilities Include:

·         Enter all data for artist programs into scheduling software, and create and distribute program contracts to stakeholders in a timely manner.

·         Track all paperwork related to state, county, and city funded residencies, and ensure their timely and accurate submission.

·         Monitor program evaluations submitted through Salesforce.

·         Serve as the liaison between YA and the Maryland State Arts Council Program Department for assembly programs.

·         Maintain all eligible YA artists’ MSAC roster compliance by tracking artist liability insurance policies and background checks and submitting online roster forms for new artists.

·         Assemble orientation packets and outreach materials for coordinators as needed.

·         Regulate program department supplies.

·         Oversee the application processes for the Access for All and Early Learning Access for All grant programs.

·         Schedule meetings and provide logistical support for various program related committees.

·         Take and disseminate notes highlighting action items during weekly program meetings.

·         Assist Program Department in answering and routing program related phone calls.

·         Resolve phone and e-mail inquiries pertaining to program payments and status.

·         Submit required materials for individual County Art Council showcases and artist rosters.

·         Complete Venue Agreement Forms required by Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

·         Manage calendars for YA Touring Artists and Artist Associates.

·         Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

·         Work with the YA staff as needed on special projects.
