Youth Missions International

Who we are
Youth Missions International is a faith-based training organization empowering young people to continually live and share their faith in the global communities they serve.

What we do

  • Prepare current and future Christian leaders to intelligently engage in cross-cultural ministry.
  • Provide domestic and international short-term mission trips.
  • Partner with indigenous missionaries to enhance their local ministry.
  • Produce youth-led outreach opportunities for the local church.
  • Plant sister organizations in countries around the world.

What it means

  • A proven process for developing mission-minded Christian leaders.
  • A ministry that produces exponential and sustainable results.
  • Young people with a vision for integrating profession and faith.
  • Churches effectively connected to the communities they serve.
  • An international network of people who share a similar mission, vision, and values.

Our Story
Based out of the Seattle area, Youth Missions International was founded in March 2007 by a highly experienced group of short-term mission trainers and senders.

Combined, our trainers have over 20 years of training and mission leading experience, training and sending over 95 short-term mission teams on six continents. Most of them had previously been involved in training and sending teams through Awana's Missionary-in-Training Program. Since being founded, YMI has sent teams from across the U.S. to locations in our country and around the world.

Our Cornerstone Verse
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Acts 1:8

Our Method
In step with Acts 1:8, YMI provides churches and individual young people (junior high-college age) with opportunities to evangelize locally, regionally and internationally through short-term mission training and mission experiences.
