Employee resource groups – source for support

Employee resource groups (ERGs) are groups voluntarily led by employees who share common interests, life experiences, and/or backgrounds. These groups serve to advocate for employees. As a result, workers benefit on a professional and personal level. ERGs can also assist in supporting a company’s goals, such as achieving diversity and inclusion in the workplace. They are a win-win for both employees and employers.

College Recruiter is currently focusing on employee resource groups (ERGs) and is publishing the opinions of experts based on a series of questions. Women in the Workplace Bring Diversity

Women in today’s workplace continue to reach new heights. However, they are still striving for advancement in areas such as leadership. While men are typically hired more often for executive jobs, some employers may be underestimating what women can offer if hired for these positions.

To help explore these issues, College Recruiter is hosting a College Recruiting Bootcamp on LGBT and other diversity hiring issues on Tuesday, September 29th at the Twilio headquarters in San Francisco. Join us.

Conflicts are inevitable in business. Whether it’s between colleagues, your boss or a client who isn’t pleased, resolving conflict early is paramount.

The good news is that it’s one of the important interpersonal skills that can be worked on. Even with a lot of practice, conflict is rarely evereasy due to the strong negative emotions involved.

Conflict management is a difficult skill to develop for those who naturally avoid conflicts. Avoiding a conflict may make you feel more comfortable in the short term, but will only create additional issues in the long term.

In order to best deal with conflict, you must have a strong conflict management style and approach in order for both parties to walk away as if they’ve walked away feeling good. (more…)
