With LinkedIn currently being the most popular social networking site (second to Facebook), you’d want to make good use of that“300 million active users”. Since LinkedIn is increasingly being used for online recruitment, the “recommendations” feature is one that deserves considerable attention and care dealing with. Just because someone likes your idea of business, doesn’t make them a passable recommender.

According to LinkedIn, “Hiring managers and people searching for new customers and business partners prefer to work with people who come recommended by someone they know and trust.”

Someone “they know and trust” has to be someone you have worked with for a considerable amount of time and who can honestly pass a comment stating a few qualities he remembers about you. (more…)

If a student speaks a different language he would perceive in a different world. Many theorist have written in the articles that being a bilingual or multilingual is better than a being a monolingual because to survive with a monolingual is not enough in the competitive world because over 5000 languages are spoken in the world which means that about 25 languages are spoken per state.

Freelancing is perhaps the easiest way to get working experience and money right away after graduation. It’s funny, though: if you sit for 8 hours at a computer in the office, designing a website, no one will deny that you are simply doing your job. However, if you spend the same amount of time at home, accomplishing the same task, most of your friends and relatives will think of you as of a slacker.

Despite of all of the above, if you are a student or a graduate, who tries to find a decent job, I would recommend you to find out first, if your profession allows you to work as a freelancer. During your first freelance working experience you will most likely be faced with displeasure of your relatives and requests like “Go find yourself a normal job”, but there are several significant advantages only a short-sighted person would neglect.
