EY logoIt is important to most of us that we enjoy our work but difficult to know when you’re looking for a job whether we’ll be happier working for one employer versus another. A great way to know if an employer offers a great place to work is to ask the people who know the organizations best — their employees. For the past seven years, Glassdoor has awarded its Employees’ Choice Awards to honor the 50 best places to work.  For 2015, the 49th best place to work was EY.

With its headquarters in London, United Kingdom, EY is a business that offers professional services to companies around the world.  These include assurance (including financial audit), tax, consulting, and advisory services.  It is recognized as one of the “Big Four” audit firms and the third biggest professional services firm globally based on total revenue in 2014.  Today, EY employs about 190,000 people in more than 700 offices worldwide in around 150 countries.

Why would you want to work for EY?  One reason is that the company has a global mindset.  As an employee, you will have learning opportunities, experiences, and coaching to help you develop this way of thinking.  Whether you work abroad or at home, you can work with co-workers and clients across the globe.  EY can also support your professional and personal goals.  You will learn soft skills, and receive training and support that can take you to the next level.  Diversity and inclusion is important too.  The diverse workforce provides unique points of view, which allows everyone to feel included in attempting to get better solutions to problems.

EY has career opportunities available for college students and recent graduates.  Students can go after internships or programs such as the Emerging Leaders Program.  Recent graduates can apply for jobs in the following areas:

  • Advisory
  • Assurance
  • Financial Services Office
  • Support Services
  • Tax
  • Transactions
