The headquarters of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. is located in Torrance, California.  TMS was founded in California in 1957 and acts as the sales, marketing, and distribution subsidiary for Toyota in the United States.  The selling of Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles are done under TMS in 49 states; Servco Pacific distributes the automobiles in Hawaii.  In addition, TMS is also responsible for the television campaigns and other marketing materials nationally and watches over dealer marketing in order to ensure that dealers represent the same image.  Today, there are 14 regional offices supervised by the TMS headquarters, and the company has over 6,500 employees.
