Guidewire logoIt is important to most of us that we enjoy our work but difficult to know when you’re looking for a job whether we’ll be happier working for one employer versus another. A great way to know if an employer offers a great place to work is to ask the people who know the organizations best — their employees. For the past six years, Glassdoor has awarded its Employees’ Choice Awards to honor the 50 best places to work.  For 2014, the sixth best place to work was Guidewire Software Inc.

Foster City, California is the home of Guidewire Software Inc.  The company is known for providing software products for use in the casualty/property insurance business, here in the United States and around the world.  In 2012, Guidewire was recognized as a top initial public offering, or IPO.  Additionally, it was named one of the 50 most desirable medium-sized companies in the Bay Area from 2010 through 2012.

So, why would you want to work for Guidewire Software Inc.?  The company believes in finding people who are interested contributing to its success long-term in a comfortable environment.  Do you have ideas?  Guidewire allows employees’ voices to be heard.  Three values it emphasizes are:

  • Integrity
  • Rationality
  • Collegiality

Both graduates and students can find employment at Guidewire Software Inc.  As a graduate, you will have the opportunity to be proactive immediately on the job, providing your own input.  You will also receive the proper training necessary to help build quality products.  Students can take advantage of internships that will teach them about software development.  This includes writing code that will be used at Guidewire.  If you’re educated in computer science, then this company may be right for you.
