Louisiana State University – Shreveport (formerly Louisiana State University of Shreveport) is located in the Shreveport-Bossier metropolitan area. The campus sits on 258 acres of land, highlighted by crape-myrtles that shade the concrete walkways, which connect the campus buildings. There are more than 4,000 students enrolled at LSUS; 26% are of diverse backgrounds and 92% are from the state of Louisiana. At the Louisiana State University of Shreveport, four men’s and women’s teams compete at the NAIA level, and consistently play for championships in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. The University Court of Apartments at LSUS provides on-campus housing, and have a variety of styles, including private bedrooms and bathrooms for shared accommodations. More than 60 student organizations are available to students, with at least one club associated with each major on campus. Intramural sports range from the new lacrosse program to dodgeball.
