Careerbuilder Still on Facebook

I can't imagine that the good folks over at Jobster are too happy about this, but Careerbuilder ads are still showing up pretty prominently on Facebook.

After I posted the above entry, Jason Goldberg, CEO of Jobster, emailed to let me know that Jobster loves the Careerbuilder ads because no one clicks on them and that makes the Jobster stuff even more genuine with the Facebook audience.

I love it. That’s great.

Facebook's advertising inventory is sold by MSN, which has a $150 million deal with Careerbuilder. I wouldn't expect that the CB banners will be disappearing anytime soon. What concerns me about Jason Goldberg's comments is that it sounds as if MSN and/or Facebook is sharing CB's banner results with him. Which is not okay. Regardless of Jobster's agreements with Facebook, CB's banner results should not be released. That data should be confidential. If Facebook and/or MSN is sharing advertiser results, especially with competitors - in my opinion that is a bad business practice and might make me leary of advertising on Jobster, Facebook, or MSN.

That point made, I'm sure Jason also understands that the CB banners are for Monkey-Mail and serve a branding purpose. The results are probably not being evaluated solely on a click-through basis.
