Most states experienced a sharp decline in the number of internships and entry level jobs posted by employers from November to December.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, December 4, 2009 - Despite indications of economic recovery, there's been a marked decrease in the number of internship and entry level job opportunities in most states, according to a recent review of employers' posting habits conducted by CollegeRecuiter.com, the nation's leading job board for college students and new graduates. The nation's most thinly populated states have experienced the most significant decline.

Although some states, like Ohio (4%) and Colorado (3%), have seen some increase in the number of internships on CollegeRecruiter.com at the beginning of December, most others, like Arkansas (30%) and New Mexico (24%), have significantly lower numbers than they had in November. Most states, like Pennsylvania (16% fewer internships and 10% fewer entry level jobs) and Illinois (8% fewer internships and 7% fewer entry level jobs) have fared poorly on both fronts. Some, like Oregon (8% more entry level jobs posted) and Nevada (11% more entry level jobs posted), have fared somewhat better.

"A reduction in the number of job posts is to be expected at this time of year," said content coordinator, Candice Arnold. "But we're certainly hopeful that the new year will bring with it many new opportunities."

In an effort to help job seekers quickly find employment, CollegeRecruiter.com earlier this year initiated a monthly survey of thousands of job posts to identify those states with the most, and the fewest, number of internship and entry level job opportunities posted by employers. The data, updated at the beginning of each month, is gathered through a review of recruitment trends from each state and the District of Columbia. The monthly review is intended to serve as a guide to help job seekers estimate the status of the job market in the states where they reside.

Among the states with the most opportunities, Texas is the only one to have a decrease (4%) in the number of internships posted. And Florida is only state to have an increase (5%) in the number of entry level jobs posted. Every state with the lowest number of entry level job and internship postings has experienced a significant decline in December.

Here are some of the states that have the most and fewest internships and entry level jobs available for December:

Georgia, Wisconsin and Arizona see increase in internship postings from October to November while North Carolina, Washington state and New Mexico see increase in entry level job postings during that same period.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, November 6, 2009 - There's been an increase in the number of internships and entry level jobs now actively being recruited for in most states, according to a recent study of employers conducted by CollegeRecuiter.com, the nation's leading job board for college students and new graduates. Some states, particularly those with smaller populations, haven't been faring as well.

Although states like Wyoming (56% fewer internship postings and 24% fewer entry level jobs) and Alaska (24% fewer internship postings and 30% fewer entry level jobs), have seen significant decreases in the number of internships and entry level jobs posted on CollegeRecruiter.com at the beginning of November, most others, like Maine (110% more internship postings and 12% more entry level jobs) and Hawaii (20% more internship postings and 20% more entry level jobs), have significantly higher numbers than this time in October.

"We were quite happy but not surprised to see the significantly higher number of job openings advertised on CollegeRecruiter.com," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder. "Many of our employer clients have been telling us that they are or soon will be hiring again and not just one person here and there but dozens, hundreds, and even thousands of people. Our clients and job seeker users have endured a terrible recession but we're now all emerging from it together. We're all a bit battered and bruised, but we're also stronger and wiser. The labor market will likely take months and perhaps years to return to being robust, but we're on the way up rather than down and that's encouraging for all."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, June 5, 2009 - In response to recent inquiries, CollegeRecruiter.com has re-launched its Ask the Experts blog. Every week, a group of experts from around the country gives their responses to questions that have been gathered from a variety of sources, such as students, job seekers and employers. Sometimes the experts write articles of their own, which are also open to comments.

Regular reports on site traffic indicate overwhelmingly that besides looking for jobs, visitors to CollegeRecruiter.com also want as much information as they can get about writing a great resume, acing a job interview, negotiating for the best salary and benefits and the proper way to follow up after interviews are completed. The time could not better for anyone with valuable knowledge on any one of these subjects to be a part of something that's specifically designed to mentor and guide those who are new to job searching and to those who are uncertain if they're using best, most effective methods in their quests for jobs or internships.

By participating in the Ask the Experts blog, contributors are able to gain added exposure for themselves, their companies and their Web sites or blogs. The questions they answer cover a wide variety of career-related topics, such as how to dress for an interview, resume writing, salary negotiation and whether it's a good idea to go to graduate school. Anyone who signs up to be a regular contributor will be in good company.

Internship expert, Penny Loretto, has already started contributing. "As a frequent visitor and contributor to CollegeRecruiter.com, I became interested in participating as a contributor [to Ask the Experts] because I value this resource and I believe that students really want a place where they can get professional answers to their personal career-related questions," said Loretto. "The Ask the Experts blog provides a resource for students to get several answers to their questions from professionals in the field and this information will hopefully help them to make better career-related decisions."

Game Theory Group CEO, Vin McCaffrey, has also answered several questions. "CollegeRecruiter.com has long been considered an outstanding resource for undergraduates, graduate students and recent college graduates as they prepare for their career search. The resurrection of 'Ask the Experts' creates a great medium to answer questions that are completely relevant for the recent college graduate," McCaffrey said enthusiastically. "Personally, I love the Q and A format - the questions are asked from the perspective of the candidate and as the industry experts share their experiences and insight, their intent is to help ease the anxieties associated to a job search. We realize how challenging it is to land a job, particularly in this economy. I know how proud I am to be on the panel with my colleagues and hope that we can help those job candidates gain a bit more clarity and confidence in their job search."

And executive recruiter, Dwain Celistan, has graciously shared his knowledge. "Ask the Experts blog is a great place for job seekers. It provides a safe environment to ask a question and get credible perspective from knowledgeable professionals," said Celistan. "As the Career Acceleration Coach, I find it important to help talented people realize their goals. This forum is a great place to provide input to one person, but the feedback may help many more. The combination of perspectives allows the reader to think about their situation differently. I know many persons will make wiser decisions because of the input they get from the 'pros'."

Loretto, McCaffrey and Celistan are only a few of the experts taking the time to offer their insights and advice to interested students and job seekers.

There is always room for one more expert who's interested in commenting on one or more of the topics discussed in the blog. So, anyone who feels he or she is an expert in a particular area, like recruiting, personal branding or interviewing - either as an employer or a candidate - is welcome to be a contributor to Ask the Experts. Simply get in touch with content coordinator, Candice Arnold, to be added to the list.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, April 13, 2009 - CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading job board for college students hunting for internships and recent graduates looking for entry level jobs and other career opportunities, announced today that it has become one of the first job boards and the first college job board to create a fully functional, mobile web site at CollegeRecruiter.mobi.

"We decided a few years ago that the future of the Internet was mobile, but we felt until recently that the significant investment in building and maintaining a second version of our web site was not yet worth it," said Steven Rothberg, founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "We knew that the mobile web had reached critical mass when Nielson Media reported that more than 40 million U.S. residents access the web on their cell phones. And given that our primary audience are college students, recent graduates, and alumni, we also knew that a higher percentage of our tech savvy audience would be mobile web users than the audience for general job boards or the niche boards which target by industry or geography."

Visitors to the CollegeRecruiter.mobi mobile job board will find a fully functional job board. All of the articles, blogs, job postings, and other content on CollegeRecruiter.com also run on CollegeRecruiter.mobi. Many other job boards which claim to be mobile, however, aren't truly mobile because candidates who find job postings of interest on those other sites aren't able to apply to the jobs right away. Instead, their users first must find the job on the mobile site, then email a link to the job to themselves, then go to a computer, and then apply to the job. "CollegeRecruiter.mobi is truly mobi," said Rothberg. "Candidates search the job database on their cell phones just like they're on their computers. They read the job postings on their mobiles just like they're on their computers. And they can apply to the job postings on their mobiles just like they're on their computers. There's no need to email a link. If a job is posted at 9:00am and they find it at 9:10am, they can apply to it at 9:10am and be the first candidate to apply rather than emailing it to themselves and then not being able to do anything until they can get to their computer."

Candidates understand that a delay of a day or two or even hours can make the difference between landing that all important first interview or being put into the black hole of an applicant tracking system. Those who apply early stand a better chance of being hired than those who apply later, and the CollegeRecruiter.mobi mobile job board makes it both possible and easy to apply first. In these difficult economic times, every edge matters and CollegeRecruiter.com is thrilled to be at the leading edge of helping college students, recent graduates, and alumni get every edge they deserve.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, April 8, 2009 - In response to recent reports that job seekers are struggling to find jobs, CollegeRecruiter.com compiled lists of the five best and worst states for finding internships and entry level jobs. The data was gathered through a state-by-state search on the site; the lists will be updated every month to help students and entry level job candidates know how many opportunities are available to them and in which states. The results? Very encouraging.

"We were very pleased to see that almost every state, large and small, recorded significant increases in the number of internships and entry-level job openings," said Steven Rothberg, Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com job board. "There has certainly been a lot of doom-and-gloom related to the economy over the past year but an increase in the number of advertised job openings means that more employers are finding it difficult to attract the talent they need to fill the openings they have. Historically, increased entry-level hiring is one of the earliest signs that an economy in recession is recovering."

The states with the largest number of internship and entry-level job listings on CollegeRecruiter.com in April are:

Internships

State Postings in April Postings in March Percent Increase (Decrease)
California 2,702 2,152 26

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

With only 64.1 percent of college students and recent graduates believing that it will take them three or fewer months to find a job if they were to start looking for a new job today, their pessimism is significantly stronger than it was in March when 73.5 percent expected to find a new job within three months or even February when 65 percent expected to find a new job within three months.

Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 7, 2008 - College students and recent graduates are again pessimistic about the prospects they face in the job market. The candidates swung from optimistic to pessimistic in January and February, back to optimistic in March, and back again to pessimistic this month. In February, for example, only 65 percent expected to find a new job within three months but by March that percentage had increased to 73.5 percent. Yet the continuing flat stock market, subprime mortgage scandals, fears of recession, and uncertainty in the political arena seem to be weighing heavily on the minds of college students searching for internships and recent graduates hunting for entry level jobs and other career opportunities.

CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading job board for college students searching for internships and recent graduates hunting for entry level jobs and other career opportunities, conducts a monthly poll in which candidates are asked, "If you were to start looking for a new job today, how many months would you expect it to take to find one?" The results have been:

  • November - 75 percent of respondents expected that it would take them only three or fewer months to find a job and fewer than 13 percent believed that it would take them longer than a year.
  • December - 74 percent expected that it would take them only three or fewer months to find a job but only five percent believed that it would take them longer than a year.
  • January - 69 percent expected that it would take them only three or fewer months and slightly over eight percent believed that it would take them longer than a year.
  • February - 65 percent expected that it would take them only three or fewer months and almost six percent believed that it would take them longer than a year.
  • March - 74 percent expected that it would take them only three or fewer months but over 12 percent believed that it would take them longer than a year.
  • April - 64 percent expected that it would take them only three or fewer months but only 5 percent believed that it would take them longer than a year.

The results of the CollegeRecruiter.com Job Seeker Confidence Index for April 2008 were:

"We were disappointed to see that the majority of college students and recent graduates who use CollegeRecruiter.com to find internships, entry level jobs, and other career opportunities were again pessimistic about their ability to find a new job quickly," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "We are, however, not surprised. News that the nation had shed 80,000 jobs over the previous month was announced just days before we conducted our poll. The dismal job market news can only make a tough job market seem worse to those who are struggling to find an internship, entry level job, or other career opportunity."

CollegeRecruiter.com updates the CollegeRecruiter.com Job Seeker Confidence Index on a monthly basis. For updates, visit the CollegeRecruiter.com Press Room page.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (March 26, 2009) - CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading job board for college students hunting for internships and recent graduates looking for entry level jobs and other career opportunities, announced today that its founder, Steven Rothberg, is amongst the first business executives to be included in ExecTweets, a new third-party service that helps Twitter monetize and turn its huge amount of data into something useful for business users.

ExecTweets compiles the postings to Twitter (tweets) made by top executives in various industries. ExecTweets distributes to its users the tweets from dozens of executives including Amazon.com's Werner Vogels, Virgin's Richard Branson, eBay's Pierre Omidyar, Digg's Jay Adelson and Kevin Rose, Twitter's Evan William, Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, and CollegeRecruiter.com's Steven Rothberg.

According to VentureBeat, business users will be more likely to access Twitter indirectly through ExecTweets than directly through Twitter because:

  1. ExecTweets encourages readers to vote for tweets which are good. The more votes a tweet gets, the more prominently it is displayed on the main page of ExecTweets.
  2. The Top Links section allows readers to see what web sites are referred to by the executives. The thinking behind that section is that business users will find it of interest to know what content high level executives read and find interesting.
  3. The Hot Topics area shows at a glance the most popular keyword phrases being tweeted by the executives.

"I was thrilled to learn that the tweets that I post daily and sometimes multiple times per day to Twitter.com/StevenRothberg will receive added exposure from this great new service," said Rothberg. "Twitter is the fastest growing social media site on the planet and is well integrated with other high traffic social media sites such as Facebook. It has grown from being a curiosity to being a phenomenal business tool. And the features provided by ExecTweets will allow those of us who a lot of post business-related content to Twitter to gain even more exposure from our efforts."

The plan for ExecTweets, according to its marketing manager, Matthew DiPietro, is to generate revenue from its existing and future sponsorships and other deals and then share some of that revenue with Twitter.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, February 16, 2009 - Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com, has been selected as one of the presenters to both the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) 2009 Annual Conference in Las Vegas this June and at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) 2009 Annual Conference in New Orleans this July.

Steven Rothberg photo

"I've had the good fortune to be a presenter at the NACE annual conferences before and am excited about doing so again for 2009 as they're very well attended and organized," said Steven Rothberg. "But I'm also very excited about presenting at SHRM this summer as I've attended but not yet had the opportunity to be a presenter at their conferences. Their conferences are even larger than NACE's so it should be a really fun experience."

Rothberg's presentations at the NACE and SHRM conferences will be entitled, The Future of Online Recruiting: Why Job Boards and Facebook Are Only Gateways to What Lies Ahead. During the presentations, he will compare the history of consumer marketing with the marketing of employment opportunities and then look at which online recruiting techniques are being used today and which will most likely survive and thrive tomorrow because they provide staffing leaders with the ability to be both efficient and effective at recruiting the talent needed by their organizations.

CollegeRecruiter.com will also have a prominent presence in the exhibition room halls of both conferences as it will have a booth staffed by multiple employees of CollegeRecruiter.com.

In her recommendation, Kim wrote that, "CollegeRecruiter lists internships in many different fields. It is a good place for students to find internships that interest them. Of course, CollegeRecruiter also lists entry-level positions. So, it will also prove beneficial to recent graduates."

"We were thrilled to be notified by the Kim Komando Show that we had been selected as its Cool Site of the Day," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. They even warned us that we could see an additional 200,000 visitors to our site as a result of the award so asked us to do whatever we could to ensure that our web site would be able to handle the additional traffic. We weren't concerned about the additional traffic as we've built our site to handle even higher traffic loads and we detected no slowdowns or other problems despite the additional traffic that we received as a result of Kim's award.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, November 13, 2008 - Although the U.S. economy has shed hundreds of thousands of jobs over the past year and the only sector which continues to hire rapidly is government, the leading job board for college students searching for internships and recent graduates hunting for entry-level jobs today announced the hiring of two new sales representatives. CollegeRecruiter.com, which was named this past summer to the Inc. 5000 list for fastest growing privately held companies in the U.S., recently hired Caddy Rowland as a National Account Executive and Betsy Larson as a Consumer Marketing National Account Executive.

Caddy Rowland is responsible for the sale of recruitment advertising packages to employers, schools, and other clients. Caddy has worked in advertising sales for more than 18 years. During many of the years, she sold advertising targeted to National Football League fans in team publications. In between selling advertising and disciplining her parrots, Caddy loves to paint with water colors and mixed media and has had a number of those paintings displayed by galleries throughout the Minneapolis / Saint Paul metro area. She enjoys all subject matter, but her favorites are abstract, life form and illustrative. When she's not relaxing with a brush in hand, you'll find Caddy walking and hiking in the woods, enjoying all types of animals (if it breathes, she is fascinated by it), working with plants and flowers, playing bridge and Texas Hold 'Em, reading, and enjoying the fine arts. Caddy is also a member of the Minnesota Zoo and Minnesota Arboretum.

Betsy Larson is responsible for the sale of advertising packages to organizations which want to market their products and services to college students, recent graduates, and alumni. Betsy also sells cost per acquisition (CPA) advertising to military and other organizations who want to pay to generate employment-related leads from candidates by the lead or click. Betsy grew up in Iowa and moved to the Chicago area to attend Northwestern University . She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Economics but was unsure of what she could do with a Poli Sci major other than run for President or go into sales. Fortunately for Betsy, she made the wise choice and took a job selling computer hardware and software. Betsy went through the IBM sales training program and went on to work for a business partner of IBM's selling personal computer software. Betsy started working in the Internet space in 2000 in a variety of positions including media buying, ad sales, and ad brokering. Betsy has extensive experience in email marketing, lead generation and affiliate marketing. Betsy lives in the Chicago area with her husband, two teenagers and a very large bloodhound named Hunter. When she is not working, she enjoys watching her kids sporting events, hiking, skiing, reading, and walking.

"The entire team at CollegeRecruiter.com is very excited about these two new additions," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder. "The passion and years of experience that these two fine individuals bring to our clients will only help us better help them."

America's 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies Revealed

5000 Fast-Growth Companies to Quell Your Recession Fears - List Reports Aggregate Revenue of $185 Billion

CollegeRecruiter.com Ranks No. 1403 on the 2008 Inc. 5,000 With Three-Year Sales Growth of 270%

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, August 20, 2008 - Inc. today ranked CollegeRecruiter.com number 1043 on its annual ranking of the 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the country. The list is the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy - America's independent-minded entrepreneurs. Taken as a whole, these companies represent the backbone of the U.S. economy.

"Our second annual Inc. 5000 continues the most ambitious project in business journalism," said Inc. 5000 Project Manager Jim Melloan. "The Inc. 5000 gives an unrivalled portrait of young, underreported companies across all industries doing fascinating things with cutting-edge business models, as well as older companies that are still showing impressive growth."

CollegeRecruiter.com is the leading job board for college students searching for internships and recent graduates hunting for entry level jobs and other career opportunities. Unlike most job boards which focus on commodity products such as resume searching and job postings, the growth of CollegeRecruiter.com has been driven by its focus on innovative new media products such as targeted email campaigns, targeted cell phone text messaging campaigns, pay per click job posting ads, and pay per lead job posting ads.

In this year's rankings, CollegeRecruiter.com made the Inc. 5000 list as the 1,403rd fast growing company overall, 17th fastest amongst education-related companies, and 23rd fastest in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area. With only eight employees plus contractors, CollegeRecruiter.com has seen its revenues explode from $660,424 in 2004 to $2.4 million in 2007, an increase of 270 percent.

"We are thrilled to be recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States," said Steven Rothberg, president and founder at CollegeRecruiter.com. "We agree with Inc.'s analysis that our rapid growth was due to two primary factors:

The 5000 companies that made the list reported aggregate revenue of $185 billion and median three-year growth of 147 percent. Most important, the 2008 Inc. 5000 companies were engines of job growth, having created more than 826,033 jobs since those companies were founded. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and a list of the fastest-growing companies that can be sorted by industry and region can be found at www.inc5000.com.

Methodology

The 2008 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and privately held, independent - not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies - as of December 31, 2007, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2004, and $2 million in 2007.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, MN - August 5, 2008 -- CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading job board for college students searching for internships and recent graduates hunting for entry level jobs and other career opportunities, today announced that it has integrated LinkedIn networking features. Now the students, recent graduates, and alumni who apply on CollegeRecruiter.com to internships or entry level jobs immediately see who they know at the organization to which they just applied.

CollegeRecruiter.com is one of the first job boards and the first college job board to integrate LinkedIn's business networking tools. As a result of the integration, CollegeRecruiter.com users can utilize the LinkedIn network of more than 24 million users to find inside connections at employers who are advertising their job openings on CollegeRecruiter.com.

"One of my biggest frustrations with helping college students searching for internships and recent graduates hunting for entry level jobs is that many don't yet know how to network," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "It isn't that they're stupid or lazy. They simply haven't been taught. So how do you get a Gen Y'er who grew up with computers and can hardly remember a time when the Internet wasn't at their fingertips how to network? One way is to guide them to the best on-line tools and remind them to use those tools over and over again. And now the hundreds of thousands of college students and recent graduates who use CollegeRecruiter.com each month will have easy access to one of the best on-line networking tools: LinkedIn."

Screen shot of LinkedIn integration on CollegeRecruiter.com

Instead of submitting a job application to XYZ Corporation and then hoping to hear back, candidates will now submit the job application and then instantly see who is in their network who works at that organization or knows someone who works at that organization. The idea is that the candidates will then contact those people and ask them to bring the application to the attention of a decision maker. Not all candidates will choose to make use of this great new tool. But those who do will find that their chances for success will skyrocket.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, MN - May 21, 2008 -- CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading job board for college students searching for internships and recent graduates hunting for entry level jobs and other career opportunities, today announced that it will no longer offer resume searching to its clients. The change, which has been planned for months, took effect on May 18th when CollegeRecruiter.com re-launched with a minimalistic and completely new look-and-feel as well as brand new job search and resume database software.

"We've become increasingly concerned about the ability of our staff and the job board industry as a whole to protect the interests of the candidates who use our sites," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "Those who post their resumes to CollegeRecruiter.com or any other job board have a legitimate right to expect their data to be safeguarded. There have been significant increases in the number of organizations and individuals trying and sometimes succeeding in accessing the resume banks of job boards in order to download dozens, hundreds, and perhaps thousands of resumes for the purpose of identity theft. Many job boards, including ours when we offered resume searching, had security measures in place that prevented many and probably the overwhelming majority of these schemes. But how do you guard against financial service organizations and other legitimate organizations purchasing resume searching and then using the information they find in the resumes to sell their products and services to the candidates? No candidate wants to receive emails or phone calls from a stock broker who sees that the candidate makes a lot of money or is just entering a profession in which they will likely make a lot of money. As a college job board, a lot of our candidates fall into that second bucket."

There are many other job boards that do not sell resume searching to their clients but CollegeRecruiter.com believes that it is the first major job board to have eliminated the product. "We do not expect the elimination of the product to have a significant financial impact," continued Rothberg. "Less than five percent of our 2007 revenues came from resume searching and we expect most and perhaps all of the employers who were using our resume searching product to re-allocate those purchased to job postings, targeted emails, cell phone text messaging, and other products that we sell."

The elimination of resume searching by other job boards may be more difficult. Many of the major job boards generate 30 percent or even more of their revenues from resume searching so even if their clients re-allocate 75 percent of those revenues to other products the job boards will still suffer a significant financial setback. Yet Rothberg is convinced that the industry is moving away from resume searching. "We aren't living in the 1990's. Criminals and overly zealous sales people in otherwise legitimate organizations now understand that job boards are a tempting target for their schemes. Job boards need to either safeguard the data posted to them by their candidates or those candidates will stop using those job boards."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

With 73.5 percent of college students and recent graduates believing that it will take them three or fewer months to find a job if they were to start looking for a new job today, their optimism is significantly stronger than it was in February when 65 percent expected to find a new job within three months.

Minneapolis, Minnesota, March 6, 2008 - Despite factors such as the continuing flat stock market, subprime mortgage scandals, fears of recession, and uncertainty in the political arena, college students and recent graduates are increasingly optimistic about the prospects they face in the job market.

The results of the CollegeRecruiter.com Job Seeker Confidence Index for March 2008 were:

"We were quite pleased to see that the majority of college students and recent graduates who use CollegeRecruiter.com to find internships, entry level jobs, and other career opportunities were confident about their ability to find a new job quickly," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "We are, however, disappointed that those who are pessimistic are increasingly pessimistic."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

For the second year in a row, CollegeRecruiter.com was selected from some 40,000 U.S. and 40,000 international job boards by job seekers, employers, and recruiters as one of the 30 best job boards. CollegeRecruiter.com was the only college job board to win the 2008 Weddle's Users Choice Award.

Minneapolis, Minnesota, February 7, 2008 -- WEDDLE's, the largest publisher of print guides to job boards, announced the winners of its 2008 User's Choice Awards. The only college job board to receive the Award was CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading job board for college students searching for internships and recent graduates hunting for entry level jobs and other career opportunities. These awards are the only recognition in the $6+ billion global online employment services industry where actual users such as job seekers, employers, and recruiters get to pick the winners.

"In today's challenging job market, it's important to know the All Stars of the job board community," said WEDDLE's Publisher Peter Weddle. "That's what these 2008 User's Choice Awards winners represent. Equally as important, they haven't been selected by a panel of pundits, but by the working men and women who use those sites to find jobs and hire new employees."

"We're truly honored to have been selected from so many sites and so many high quality sites," said CollegeRecruiter.com Founder Steven Rothberg. "In every nation and every niche, there are truly outstanding job boards serving the needs of job seekers, employers, and recruiters. To be recognized as one of the best of the best is a real testament to the skill and hard work of our team and the passion of our many users."

According to Weddle's, there are now over 80,000 employment-related job boards, half of which operate in the U.S. and half elsewhere around the world. The job board sites include stand alone enterprises like CollegeRecruiter.com and sites affiliated with newspapers and trade publications, professional associations and societies, college and trade school alumni organizations, radio and television stations, and a wide array of affinity groups. Like the Zagat restaurant guides, WEDDLE's publications and its annual User's Choice Awards help consumers make smart selections among all of those options.

Each year, the public is invited to visit the WEDDLE's Web-site and cast their ballots for their favorite job boards. The 30 sites with the most votes at the end of the year are declared the User's Choice Award winners. While clearly not a scientific survey, the poll does reflect the intensity of support sites enjoy among job seekers, employers and recruiters alike. A person has to take the time and make the effort to participate in the balloting, so those that do feel strongly about the sites they select.

One-third of the 2008 winners are general purpose job boards that serve a broad cross-section of professions, crafts, trades, industries and locations. The remaining two-thirds, including CollegeRecruiter.com, are niche sites that specialize in a specific industry, career field, or geographic location. All but one of the sites are based in the United States.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Leading college job board, CollegeRecruiter.com, increased revenues in 2007 by 69 percent over the previous year while also increasing its profits by a staggering 114 percent.

Minneapolis, Minnesota, January 08, 2008 - CollegeRecruiter.com had another banner year last year by increasing revenues to core existing products such as job postings and targeted emails and introducing successful new products such as cell phone text messaging. Preliminary accounting reports indicate that revenues in 2007 were 69 percent higher than they were in 2006 and net income was up by 114 percent. In addition, since 2003, revenues have increased by 789 percent and net income by 1,978 percent.

"Over the past few years, we've been blessed by a reasonably healthy employment market, strong job seeker traffic, and satisfied employer and consumer marketing clients," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "We focused a lot of our attention and resources on building our brand and traffic during the labor market slump of late 2001 into 2003. Those efforts began to pay off as the economy rebounded and employers began not only to hire again but to hire a lot more of the college students and recent graduates that we serve. Over the past few years, our growing and highly capable team has driven a significant increase in the amount of business that we're doing with many long-term clients, added a large number of new clients, and diversified our product offerings in such a way that we were able to greatly increase our revenues but increase our profitability at an even faster clip. For example, our cell phone text messaging product went from essentially not existing in 2006 to being one of our largest producers of revenues and profitability in 2007. But even though the financials would make any owner happy, the real treat for me is to be able to work with such a great team and so many great clients."

CollegeRecruiter.com projects continued healthy growth to its top and bottom line numbers over the coming year in large part because of the number and significance of technology-related changes that it has and will soon implement. Many of the changes which are now in place are already producing greater value for the clients of CollegeRecruiter.com at a lower cost. CollegeRecruiter.com expects similarly positive results from the changes which are not yet in place.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, December 7, 2007 - Despite the continuing flat stock market, subprime mortgage scandals, and fears of recession, a large majority of college students and recent graduates are even more optimistic about the prospects they face in the job market than they were a month ago.

CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading job board for college students searching for internships and recent graduates hunting for entry level jobs and other career opportunities, conducts a monthly poll in which candidates are asked, "If you were to start looking for a new job today, how many months would you expect it to take to find one?" In November, almost 75 percent of respondents expected that it would take them only three or fewer months to find a job and fewer than 13 percent believed that it would take them longer than a year. In December, almost as many candidates expected that it would take them only three or fewer months to find a job but only five percent believed that it would take them longer than a year.

The results of the CollegeRecruiter.com Job Seeker Confidence Index for December 2007 were:

"We were quite pleased to see that the college students and recent graduates who use CollegeRecruiter.com to find internships, entry level jobs, and other career opportunities were confident about their ability to find a new job quickly," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "There has been so much doom and gloom in the news recently but for every negative story, there have also been positive stories. The effect of so many contradictory economic indicators has been confusing for many. That uncertainty can lead to pessimism. We're happy that Gen Y appears to be confident as that positive attitude will help them in their search for internships, entry level jobs, and other career opportunities."

CollegeRecruiter.com will update the CollegeRecruiter.com Job Seeker Confidence Index on a monthly basis. For updates, visit the CollegeRecruiter.com Press Room page.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota (December 3, 2007) - One of the most significant struggles that job seekers have is actually no different than what we all struggle with: a lack of available time. Although most employers source potential hires from Internet job boards such as CollegeRecruiter.com, job candidates aren't well served spending the majority of their time on job sites. After some initial benefit, the return received from additional time spent diminishes rather quickly.

"We recommend that job seekers spend no more than a day on the big three general job boards and a handful or two of niche sites and then only come back when the sites alert them to a new position which matches their interests," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "Candidates who spend day after day in front of their computers reviewing postings, tweaking their resumes, and applying to jobs are often doing so to feel productive but if they were really honest with themselves, they would acknowledge that there is a huge difference between feeling and being productive. Spending a ton of time manually posting your resume to job board after job board is not a productive use of anyone's time."

Enter ResumeRabbit.com. ResumeRabbit.com created its technology and product in 1999 to help both passive and active job seekers spend as much time as possible focusing on researching potential employers, networking, and other such highly productive tasks. After eight years of fine-tuning its unique technology and product, ResumeRabbit.com is still the only Internet tool that instantly delivers job seekers' resumes to over 80 career sites such as the big general sites Monster, Careerbuilder and HotJobs and high quality niche sites such as CollegeRecruiter.com.

So how does it work? In two words: very well. Rather than a candidate spending as much as 60 hours posting a resume to up to 80 job boards which are targeted to their geographic and occupational areas of interest, the candidate simply goes to ResumeRabbit.com, posts their resume, and pays a fee of $59.95. Not only does ResumeRabbit.com guarantee to post the candidates resumes and job requirements on up to 80 top job sites within 72 hours, but ResumeRabbit.com has to-date posted some 7.5 million resumes to job boards for over 150,000 job seekers.

"The fact is different employers search different job sites. What our service does is give a job seeker maximum exposure online, so they can be in all the right places at all the right times -- without spending 60 hours researching and filling out forms," said Lee Marc, President of eDirect Publishing, Inc., the creators of ResumeRabbit.com. "You'll never wonder if you missed an opportunity to be found on different job boards, while saving your valuable time for other important aspects of your job search," Marc continued.

Due to increased interest by college students searching for internships and recent graduates hunting for entry-level jobs, ResumeRabbit.com just added a new category to its list of job board partners. Instead of it only being able to post resumes to general sites and niche sites in technology, accounting, sales and marketing, and diversity, ResumeRabbit.com is now also able to post resumes to entry-level sites such as CollegeRecruiter.com. Within the first days of the entry-level category becoming available, dozens of resumes had successfully been posted by ResumeRabbit.com on behalf of its job seeker customers. And that means that each and every one of those job seekers were then able to immediately spend a lot more of their valuable time being as productive as possible in their search for a great new job.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, October 23, 2007 - CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading career site used by students and recent graduates searching for internships and career opportunities, announced today that it has left the Beyond.com network in order to have more control over its products and pricing. CollegeRecruiter.com will continue to use the job search and resume bank software provided by Beyond.com and the two organizations will continue to work together to provide products and services for candidates and recruiters but by mid-November resumes and jobs posted to CollegeRecruiter.com will no longer be accessible to visitors using sites in the Beyond network and vice versa.

"We've enjoyed working with Beyond since we moved to their network 4.5 years ago," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "We're leaving the Beyond network primarily because the employer clients who we work with have markedly different needs than many of the clients who use the vast majority of the sites that Beyond powers. Beyond has had to walk a bit of a tightrope in order to help us properly service the needs and wants of our employer clients yet also properly service the needs and wants of their employer clients. This evolution in our relationship will allow CollegeRecruiter.com to continue to grow and deliver the world class customer service that its clients demand and deserve."

In the short term, the biggest change that employers will see is that CollegeRecruiter.com is free to set its own pricing and publish the pricing for all of its job posting, resume searching, targeted email, cell phone text messaging, direct mail, and other products. On September 15, 2007, Beyond implemented a network-wide price increase that clients of CollegeRecruiter.com will now be immune from. The price increase, for example, led to a jump in job posting prices from $125 a little over a year ago to $175 to $250 for those posting jobs to any of the sites in the Beyond network. "I believe that the price increase was justified by the greatly increased value that Beyond was delivering to the vast majority of its clients, but I did not feel that it was in the best interests of CollegeRecruiter.com or its clients to increase our prices at this time," added Rothberg. "By opting out of the network, we're able to maintain our prices at a level that I feel is more appropriate for a college job board. We're also able to offer new products which aren't available through other sites in the Beyond network, such as an unlimited job posting package for $9,750."

Another significant change that employers and candidates will see is that resumes and jobs posted to CollegeRecruiter.com will no longer be accessible to users of the other sites in the Beyond network and vice versa. To ensure a quality user experience, CollegeRecruiter.com is in the process of implementing a number of strategic partnerships with other career sites. "These partnerships will result in a significant improvement in the quality of resumes and job postings for our clients," said Rothberg. "Employers and candidates will now have to look hard to find resumes from experienced candidates or job postings targeted to candidates with experience. When we were part of the network, those experienced resumes and postings were hard to avoid even though we are and always have been a college job board."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

San Francisco, CA, Oct. 17, 2007 - CareerTV, the nation's largest site for recruitment videos, and CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading career site used by students and recent graduates searching for internships and career opportunities, recently signed a partnership to provide even more services and information to college students and young professionals' job hunting.

"Very few employers are maximizing the way they brand themselves online so we are encouraging employers who post their jobs to CollegeRecruiter.com to include within those postings their recruitment videos. A job description combined with a recruitment video is a much more powerful message. Among those that have started to do so, the results are very, very encouraging," says Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.

"CareerTV and CollegeRecruiter.com, are targeting the same audience but offering different products for college students and young professionals," explains Jim Buttimer, COO at CareerTV in San Francisco. "We are very pleased with the results produced by the partnership so far."

"We're always looking for great, new content to offer to our visitors and the career videos from CareerTV fit perfectly with that goal," continues Rothberg.

The most recent trends point toward a rapid increase in recruitment videos by employers. These videos are referred to by a variety of names including: corporate videos, career videos, recruitment videos, and employer videos.

"I think Career TV is right on target with what employers need to differentiate themselves. Employer branding videos will become standard for all employers. If you don't realize this now, you've already lost your advantage", says Jim Stroud, an influential blogger and a frequent speaker in the HR industry. "Case in point, companies that use blogs to promote the jobs and culture of their enterprise are already reaping the benefits of active and passive jobseeker traffic and positive company branding. At the same time, their competitors are still wondering if they should be blogging at all. One could easily make that comparison with employer branding video; the early adopters are reaping the reward of attention from passive and active jobseekers while the laggards will wait until everyone else is successful before even trying it," adds Stroud.

"Nothing short of an in-person, face-to-face meeting can allow a candidate to understand the culture and environment of a potential place of employment as much as a video. They will improve the quantity and quality of responses that employers see," concludes Rothberg.

About CareerTV

CareerTV is the most-trafficked career video website and has the largest collection of employer videos online. We help students and young professionals learn more about careers within the world's top companies. Our online employer video library includes inside perspectives to corporate culture and career opportunities at some of America's top employers such as Google , L'Oreal, JP Morgan, and Walt Disney. In addition CareerTV.com works to promote employer brands with media companies such as, WetFeet, Jungle Media Group, and hundreds of colleges and universities across the country. CareerTV is a sister company to Universum - the world's leader in student surveys, and whose independent research is cited by CNN, Fortune Magazine, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, MN - September 17, 2007 - Arbita, the leading provider of global job advertising distribution solutions, announces the availability of CollegeRecruiter.com through its Premium Job Board Network. This partnership will provide recruiters and hiring managers with access to one of the world's most established college and entry level job boards through Arbita's OnePost service.

"We're very excited to be working with Arbita," says Steven Rothberg, CollegeRecruiter's President and Founder. "This relationship will open doors to large and small employers who share our belief that exceptional value is delivered by premium niche boards. Furthermore, the practitioners of these niche boards believe in the transparency of the prices they charge and the results they deliver."

The job market for college students searching for internships and recent college graduates hunting for entry level jobs is approaching an all-time high. According to Rothberg, "The graduating college seniors of 2007 face one of the best job markets in history and certainly the best since 2000. According to a recent survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), 90 percent of college career service offices believe that the class of 2006-07 is graduating into a strong job market with 11 percent rating the market as being 'excellent.' For comparison, only three percent rated the market as being excellent in last year's survey. In addition, two-thirds of the schools reported that more employers recruited on their campuses, 82 percent reported increases in on-line job postings and the number of employers attending career/job fairs, and 87 percent reported that at least as many employers signed up for spring 2007 recruiting than did last year."

"CollegeRecruiter.com will expand our clients' access to entry-level talent," says Don Ramer, Arbita's CEO and Founder. "The CollegeRecruiter.com team has built an impressive offering and we are very confident that the website will play a major role in defining entry-level recruiting both on- and off-campus for years to come."

About Arbita

Arbita's mission is to deliver the business and systems environments required for the free and efficient flow of opportunity and talent beyond borders. Arbita manages over 100,000 job postings per day for its corporate clients and supports an ecosystem of media participants that include destinations in North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 25, 2007 - Today's new employees are clearly a new generation. Often referred to as Generation Y, Millennials and Echo Boomers (all three of these terms can be used interchangeably), this rapidly growing group of workers comes to employers not only with high expectations, but with high performance capabilities as well. These new employees are the children of Baby Boomers - those born right after World War II. The term Echo Boomers stems from the large of number of children born between the years 1977 and 1998 - an echo of the large number of children born between the years of 1946 and 1964. These Echo Boomers are eager to learn and impatient to gain levels of responsibility that in the eras of Baby Boomers and Generation X would have taken either several years or hundreds of hours of dedicated hard work to achieve.

Too often, Generation Y employees find themselves making career choices based on how much they owe on student loans, rather than what best matches their skills and education. Finding jobs that are compatible with their personal lives is another desire of Millennial employees. They're not only interested in having time off for leisure, but for community service activities, too.

To help recruiters, human resources professionals, and hiring managers of organizations small and large better understand the needs and wants of members of Generation Y, CollegeRecruiter.com has published a new white paper, "Best Practices for Retaining Gen Y." By better understanding the needs and wants of this new generation, employers will be better able to retain these employees, which will allow the employers to turn their Gen Y employees into the next generation of upper managers and other leaders. Copies are available for free download at www.CollegeRecruiter.com/pages/white-papers.php.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, February 7, 2007 -- Stemming from the event management expertise of its team of recruiting professionals, HireU launched today as a complete resource for college students and graduates, as well as employers and others looking for college student and graduate outreach.

The college career fair company's first event is set to rollout in Atlanta on March 20th to provide employment opportunities and resources for the southeast region's thousands of college student and graduates. Equally, the event aims to connect employers in Atlanta, the state of Georgia and the southeast US as a whole with graduates of all levels and types of degrees from universities throughout the region.

"Unlike the local college career fairs held at various universities - which typically allow only students enrolled at that college to attend - HireU College Career Fairs will allow any college students and recent graduates (within 2 years) to attend the event, regardless of the college they went to," said HireU Founder and President Hal Fischer. "What we've seen is that many students could be home from another college outside of the area, or that they've already graduated, and hence they cannot attend the local college career fair at a specific university. For those students, HireU is their solution.

"On the employer side, this type of environment allows Fortune 500 employers and cutting edge small and regional businesses to access candidates that they would have missed out on at the local college career fair. The advantage is that our events gather a consortium of local college students and recent graduates in the area for one day at one location," stated Fischer.

Partnering with HireU for its first event will be CollegeRecruiter.com, the premier information source for college students and current and recent graduates who are seeking employment; its website is currently the highest traffic career site used by job-hunting students and recent graduates with zero to three years of experience.

"With the experience in putting on events and career fairs that the staff of HireU possesses, we knew that this would be a successful partnership for our business," said CollegeRecruiter.com President Steven Rothberg. "We're excited at the prospects of this partnership, and will be looking toward the upcoming Atlanta event to assess how HireU and CollegeRecruiter.com will move forward to create job-hunting success for college students and graduates."

Taking place from noon - 5pm at the Hilton Atlanta, the college career fair will certainly create job-hunting and talent acquisition success for the hundreds of college job seekers and approximately 30 employers attending.

Fischer utilized his over 10 years of experience in specialized event management, as well as the combined 30 years of recruiting and human resources experience of his staff, to make HireU a reality.

"At HireU, we're optimistic and enthusiastic about the possibilities of putting on college career fairs," said Fischer, adding, "Companies for years have included collegiate recruiting in their talent acquisition and sourcing programs. Students for years have found the task of the post-college job hunt to be daunting and problematic. Our whole goal in launching these college career fairs is to simplify the sourcing and hiring process for both companies and collegiate job seekers while doing so in a business casual setting, which gives both parties the advantage of an informal setting and a face-to-face meeting.

"College job seekers spend quite a bit of time submitting their resume to online databases with little or no results. Recruiters spend countless hours scouring over resumes. At HireU, we'd rather put the candidate directly in front of the employer and give the actual person - not their resume - the chance to shine," said Fischer.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, January 18, 2007 - CollegeRecruiter.com was named one of the best job boards on the Internet in the 2007 Weddle's User's Choice Awards. The annual awards were voted on by over 50,000 human resource professionals, job seekers, and other industry experts. Two-thirds of the winners were niche job boards such as CollegeRecruiter.com, reflecting a trend in which employers and job seekers are increasingly relying on the more relevant and therefore higher quality of information available to them at sites which are focused on particular niches rather than trying to be all things to all people.

Weddle's User's Choice Award Weddle's is widely recognized as the leading source of information about the more than 40,000 Internet job boards. The annual User's Choice Awards recognize the job boards which:
  • provide the best level of service and value to their visitors and
  • help others make the best use of the best on-line employment resources.

"I was thrilled when Peter Weddle contacted me to let me know that we were one of the winners," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "To be so recognized by such a large number of experts is quite humbling. Our entire staff is quite proud. Since we went live in 1996, we've chosen to grow slowly and to take a long-term, traditional approach to building this business. It is really gratifying that our strategy is being recognized by an increasingly large number of stakeholders. It is recognition such as this that helped us make 2006 easily our most successful year ever, which easily beat the previous best of 2005, which easily beat the previous best year of 2004."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, August 24, 2006 - Social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook are amongst the most popular sites on-line, especially amongst high school and college students. Unlike most sites where even regular visitors spend at most minutes a week and look at a handful of pages, visitors to social networking sites often invest hours a day at the sites, view hundreds of pages, and disclose a tremendous amount of information about themselves and their friends. More and more employers are using sites such as MySpace and Facebook as part of their background checking process. Yet even though colleges, career counselors and others have been getting their message through to many students and other job seekers that sites such as MySpace and Facebook can be dangerous to those who are looking for employment, it has not yet registered with many employers that social networking sites also pose dangers and opportunities for employers. At the Kennedy Information Recruiting 2006 Conference and Expo on November 9, 2006, CollegeRecruiter.com founder Steven Rothberg will demystify social networking sites and demonstrate the tremendous risks and opportunities they present to employers.

Attendees to Rothberg's nuts-and-bolts, humorous presentation about the dangers and opportunities presented to employers who use social networking sites, will learn about social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and others. What are they? How are they used by candidates? Attendees will discover how a small but rapidly growing percentage of employers are using social networking sites as part of their recruiting process and understand why social networking sites are dangerous when used as part of a background checking process but present tremendous opportunities when used as part of the sourcing process.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- July 31, 2006 -- CollegeRecruiter.com's strategic partnership with RecruiTV will allow employers to transform their text-only job posting ads on CollegeRecruiter.com and the 15,000 niche career sites in its network into multimedia recruitment ads that will allow entry level job seekers to read about job openings but also to learn about the employer, its employees, and its culture through the sights and sounds made possible through video.

"One of the welcome challenges of working with Gen Y candidates is that their technical skills, knowledge, and expectations surpass those of any other age group," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com, the highest traffic career site used by job hunting students and recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them. "The students and recent graduates who use our site understand that they should choose an employment opportunity based upon their competencies, interests, and values. Traditional text-only job postings are almost always written by the employer with only the needs and wants of the employer stated. These requirements and job duties may allow candidates to determine if the position lines up with their competencies but almost never allow candidates to determine if the position also lines up with their interests and values. Video does that because it forces and enables employers to showcase important factors such as their place of work, the team members with whom the candidates will work, and the culture of the organization. While some employers are starting to add recruitment videos to their own web sites, virtually none have been able to add those same videos to their job posting ads on career sites such as CollegeRecruiter.com because the process was so difficult and the cost so high. Until now. RecruiTV makes it easy, fast, and inexpensive. We're thrilled to be working with them."

"We're excited to provide a leading technology and video community platform for CollegeRecruiter.com employers and its community of students and college graduates. The use and creation of on-line video has arrived with broadband technology and the widespread use of video in the marketplace today. Candidates and employers benefit tremendously from the use of recruitment videos because they bring a more personal element to the recruiting lifecycle", said Peter J. Altieri, Chief Executive Officer of RecruiTV by Wetjello.

Although the partnership between CollegeRecruiter.com and Wetjello was just implemented, three leading employers of college students and recent graduates have already upgraded their job postings on the CollegeRecruiter.com by adding video: Central Intelligence Agency, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and RadioShack.

About Wetjello/RecruiTV

Wetjello/RecruiTV is empowering employers and candidates to utilize video as a key component in the on-line recruitment process. Wetjello/RecruiTV develops and provides state-of-the-art online video recruitment solutions and services. The company is privately owned and based in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- July 28, 2006 -- Practical work experience is a must in today's job market. College graduates who come armed with practical experience in their majors as well as quality education will rise to the top of the list of candidates for the best paying jobs. Bearing this in mind, employers should take advantage of the opportunity to grab those rising stars early on and cultivate the best employees for their companies through the use of internships and cooperative education programs. To help employers achieve these goals, CollegeRecruiter.com has released a free white paper entitled The Best Practices for Creating and Maintaining a Successful Internship Program.

The purpose of this new white paper is to help employers get the most out of their college and university hiring pipelines by helping them to build and maintain a successful internship program. By the end of the white paper, employers will know how to get the most out of their interns and how to instill in them a desire to have a career with the employer's company over any other. In addition, employers will learn how to keep their pipeline flowing, generating new talent year after year. In short, the white paper will explain to employers why successful internship programs are all about recruiting permanent employees.

Internships and cooperative education programs (co-ops) are an invaluable way for employers and students to "check each other out" and see if they would be a good fit for each other. More than 75 percent of respondents in a recent survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) said that their primary reason for having internship programs is to fuel their college recruiting program. "Bringing in students directly from college is key to having a good, sustainable pipeline of employment," Lonnie Pacelli, human resources consultant in Sammamish, WA, told John Rossheim in his article "Workforce Insights: Hard-Driving Internships Are Key to Entry-Level Recruitment." Internships are, for lack of better description, temp-to-perm relationships.

Internships can be either paid or unpaid and may or may not offer college credit for participation. Co-ops, on the other hand, are almost always paid and tend to have longer durations. While internships are generally done during the summer months when students can work full-time without worrying about homework or class schedules, they can be performed during the fall and spring semesters. Co-ops are more of a 50-50 split between full-time education and full-time employment and, unlike internships, co-ops can last for three to four years. Either way, students and employers benefit from the opportunity to learn about each other and decide whether or not a long term working relationship is likely to succeed.

Employers which are able to successfully convert a high percentage of their interns into permanent employees offer quality internship programs. Those programs are designed, in part, to cause the intern to want to work for the employer permanently. Companies that use interns like temps to "pick up the slack" will not be as successful as those employers that give interns real responsibilities and real tasks to perform. Providing a real experience to your interns tells them that you valued them.

Another way to succeed in persuading interns is with benefits. Many companies offer interns benefits such as paid holidays, relocation assistance and planned social activities. Today's college graduates are looking for jobs that pay well, offer good benefits like 401(k), paid vacation and generous maternity leaves. If it is made known to them during the recruitment process what they can expect, the odds of getting quality candidates right away increase dramatically. But don't focus solely on recruiting students for internships; plan ahead for when they are ready to enter the work world full time. "Organizations that have both a strong employment brand as well as a relationship with a variety of students on campuses tend over time to have greater success in getting students to say yes to their offers," says Kevin Wheeler in his article "Build a Candidate Pipeline Through Internships."

Copies of The Best Practices for Creating and Maintaining a Successful Internship Program are available at no charge from CollegeRecruiter.com.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- November 14, 2005 -- CollegeRecruiter.com, the highest traffic career site used by job hunting students and recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them, announced today that Steven Rothberg, its President and Founder, has been accepted to speak at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) 2006 National Meeting in Anaheim, California next spring.

"I'm thrilled to be part of the 2006 NACE National Meeting," said Rothberg. "There is no doubt that NACE is the premier association for college career service offices and employers who are involved in college hiring. And their National Meeting is the premier event for those same people. Quite simply, the other speakers, the venue, the organizers, they're all first rate and I look forward to continuing to be a member of NACE and to working with them for many years to come."

During his presentation, Rothberg will discuss how Duke University and other schools now provide free iPods to their students to improve learning. In his interactive, humorous session, Rothberg will explain the nuts-and-bolts behind podcasting, which is the distribution of audio and video programs over the Internet via a publish and subscribe model. He will demystify podcasting, illustrate how it catches the attention of today's mobile graduates, and how it can be used as a cutting-edge tool for recruiting and career counseling.

About NACE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- October 18, 2005 -- Walk around just about any college campus these days and you'll immediately be struck by how many students are walking around with white cords dangling from their ears. Virtually all of these cords are plugged into iPods, the portable digital audio players designed and marketed by Apple Computer. While many students are listening to music, some are listening to audio recordings. Today, career site CollegeRecruiter.com announced that it has taken a leadership role in the delivery of employment-related content to these plugged in students.

"College students today have greater access to information than any generation that has come before," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "They've grown up with cell phones so do not see them as being technology. They've been instant messaging for years so are entirely comfortable maintaining multiple, simultaneous conversations through these on-line chat sessions. And they appreciate the grace and power of the iPod by using it to relax, kill time between classes, and even learning. As the highest traffic career site used by students and recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them, we know that we are well positioned to connect with these students if we provide to them the content that they want, when they want it, and how they want it. Increasingly, that means delivering our content to their iPods via podcasting."

Although Minneapolis-based CollegeRecruiter.com has only just started delivering employment-related content via podcasts, it already has dozens of recordings available for download through its podcasting download page at http://www.collegerecruiter.com/podcast/. And just like its already existing library of 3,500 employment-related articles and Ask the Experts questions and answers, CollegeRecruiter.com charges no fee for full access to its fast growing collection podcasts.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- September 7, 2005 -- In an effort to help the thousands of non-profit agencies struggling to provide relief to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, career site CollegeRecruiter.com announced today that through December 31, 2005, it will run at no cost job postings to help these agencies recruit volunteers.

"The damage inflicted by Hurricane Katrina is beyond the ability of anyone to fully comprehend," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "While none of us outside of the disaster areas can appreciate the horrors that survivors are enduring, we all must help as much as we can. In addition to donating a significant amount of staff time and advertising to help with the purchase, transportation, and distribution of food, water, and other needed supplies, we've decided that we can also be of help to the non-profit community by helping them recruit the volunteers that they need to fulfill their missions."

Although the hurricane literally struck thousands of miles from the offices of Minneapolis-based CollegeRecruiter.com, the hurricane figuratively struck close to home for Rothberg as he regularly volunteers for and serves on the Board of non-profit Nechama: Jewish Response to Disaster. Rothberg has also been playing a key role in helping Nechama fulfill its mission of helping individuals and businesses struck by this disaster.

Non-profit organizations which want to post a volunteer position for free to CollegeRecruiter.com and its network of 15,000 niche career sites should email to Rothberg the posting along with the full contact information of the person to whom resumes will be sent. Rothberg's email address is Steven@CollegeRecruiter.com.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- August 30, 2005 -- The first Internet job boards were bulletin board systems and existed before there was even a world wide web. With the subsequent incredible growth of the web in 1990's came web-based job boards. Then job boards began to enable their employer-customers to reach candidates via targeted email campaigns, in which the job boards delivered an email on behalf of the employer to targeted groups of candidates. Now, CollegeRecruiter.com is taking the delivery of those messages a step further by enabling its employer-customers to reach more than 800,000 opt-in students, graduates, and other candidates via their cell phones via a service that is often referred to as mobile messaging.

"It is amazing how today's college students do not view the Internet or web sites as being confined to their computers," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "They understand that job boards are sources of information about employment and that information can be delivered in a variety of ways. Almost since we went live in 1996, we've found that the students and graduates who use our site have been incredibly comfortable with using the web and email as integral components in their job searches. But as those students find new and better ways to communicate with each other, so must we. As incredible as it sounds, today's students and graduates view email and instant messaging through computers as too slow, in part because they tend not to lug their computers around with them. But they do carry their cell phones and they do send a lot of text messages to each other."

Indeed, college students and graduates have embraced mobile messaging, as seen by the 1,000 percent increase in the number of messages sent between 2002 and 2005. Demographics of the candidates who have opted in to receive mobile messages are:

  • 57 percent 18-24 years old;
  • 48 percent female, 49 percent male (gender data is unavailable for the other 3 percent); and
  • 50 percent have downloaded a new ring tone

Studies show that the response rate is 20 times greater than web advertising and 10 times greater than advertising delivered via postal mail. And because CollegeRecruiter.com uses the same database for mobile messaging as it does for its targeted email service, employers can specify the types of candidates that they wish to target through the use of 700 data fields, including keywords, occupational fields, major, school, diversity, age, gender, language skills, income, education level, zip code, area code, and many more. Pricing for this powerful new media ranges from $6,250 to send a message to 18,116 candidates to $236,000 to send a message to 800,000 or more candidates.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- August 18, 2005 -- Since the commercialization of the Internet in the mid-1990's, employers have struggled with how they can best use this new media to improve the quantity and quality of their hires. NAS Recruitment Communications and CollegeRecruiter.com announced today that they have jointly released a white paper to help these employers.

The white paper, "Best Practices for Corporate Employment Sites: The 15 Features Necessary to Maximize the Quantity and Quality of Candidates Sourced Through Your Website," communicates to employers the experiences of the staff of CollegeRecruiter.com and NAS with respect to the best practices for corporate employment web sites. Written by Steven Rothberg, Founder and President of CollegeRecruiter.com, the document describes, explains the importance of, and gives examples of 15 of the most important website features. "The Best Practices for Corporate Employment Sites" white paper is an unbiased, non-sales document.

"A good employment site is often your first point of contact with a candidate," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "It creates lasting first impressions about your company and its opportunities. Optimal employment site design encourages applications from highly qualified candidates and discourages applications from less-qualified job seekers. Yet most employment sites fail to achieve this objective. Why? The majority of sites focus too much on presenting the preferences and requirements of the employer while forcing applicants to jump through hoops to submit an application. Employers are often heard to say that such hoops are desirable because they discourage applications from candidates with little interest. Yet candidates with little interest are often highly qualified passive candidates and it is these candidates that employers most want to hire. If your site forces such candidates to jump through hoops and fails to speak to the needs and wants of the best candidates, then your site will actually discourage applications from highly qualified candidates and encourage applications from less-qualified job seekers, which is exactly the opposite effect you want."

"After hearing some of Steven's ideas on the topic, we felt that we could help our clients and other employers who struggle with these issues," said Patty Van Leer, Central Region Vice President of NAS Recruitment Communications. "Partnering with CollegeRecruiter.com was a great experience as they were able to bring to the project information that they've gleaned from talking with hundreds of employers and thousands of candidates. We were able to bring to the project the talent of our design team, who did a fantastic job in putting together a document that is short, easy to read, and yet packed full of great information."

Copies of "The Best Practices for Corporate Employment Sites" are available at no charge from the NAS Recruitment Communications website at http://www.nasrecruitment.com or by sending an email to Steven@CollegeRecruiter.com.

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- August 10, 2005 -- CollegeRecruiter.com, the highest traffic career site used by job hunting students and recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them, announced today that Steven Rothberg, its President and Founder, has been invited to speak at the Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers (MPACE) annual conference in Phoenix, Arizona this December.

"We're looking forward to working with Steven and to hearing his forward looking ideas on how to engage today's candidates," said Diane Ward, Co-Op & Career Counselor Director of Career Development at the University of Utah and a member of the MPACE Programs Committee. "His reputation as a speaker and message should prove to be a perfect fit for the career service and human resource professionals who will attend the conference."

"I'm thrilled to be part of the first MPACE conference," said Rothberg. "The other speakers, the venue, the organizers, they're all first rate and I hope that this will just be the first of many opportunities to work with MPACE."

During his presentation, Rothberg will discuss how career service offices and employers can best engage today's candidates through a highly interactive discussion about the best practices for the design of employment-related web sites. The discussion will first address how, in less than ten years, the Internet has evolved from being a curiosity to one of the most critical elements for career service offices and employers alike. Yet many career service offices use overworked staff or students to create their web sites and many employers spend a ton of time and money buying job postings and resume searching from job boards and virtually neglect their own sites. According to Rothberg, "career service and corporate employment web sites are occasionally fantastic, sometimes good, and usually in need of a serious upgrade."

Rothberg will then discuss why it is important to take corporate employment web sites from merely allowing candidates to view opportunities and perhaps learn about organizations to sites which educate, engage and inspire candidates. He'll look at real-life examples of fantastic sites and discuss what features make them fantastic, which of those features can be easily and inexpensively replicated, and why those features are important to candidates and need to be just as important to the organizations.

"I've spoken for Human Resource IQ a number of times and have a tremendous amount of respect for their staff and the programs they put on," said Rothberg. Minneapolis, Minnesota -- May 24, 2005 -- For most people, looking for a new job isn't much fun. In fact, the prospect of looking for a new job is so daunting that they often refuse to do so until laid off. That isn't healthy or wise, according to experts at CollegeRecruiter.com (http://www.collegerecruiter.com), the highest traffic career site used by job hunting students and recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them.

To add a measure of entertainment to the site's extensive job postings and employment resources, CollegeRecruiter.com has launched a new gaming section. The goal is to attract potential candidates to the site and build their awareness of job sites before an employment crisis strikes.

"Since going live in 1996, we've tried to design our site to be fast and easy-to-use with as many relevant job postings as possible and more employment-related articles and other content than most candidates could hope for," explained Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "But we've always struggled with how to make it more . . . well, fun. Today, we've taken a big step toward that goal with the release of our new On-line Games section at www.CollegeRecruiter.com/games."

CollegeRecruiter.com currently features three games:

  • Stumbling Distance Game - Can you get the sleepy college student home before he falls over?

  • Puzzle Game - Flip and sort out the pieces to the photo, or upload a photo of your own and do the same!

  • Snowboard Game - Experience all the jumps and acrobatics you've dreamed of being able to complete, but without the frostbite!

"Early feedback about the games is overwhelmingly positive," added Rothberg, "except for the handful of people who half-jokingly threatened us with lawsuits after they started playing the games at work and ended up getting chewed out by their supervisors. Seriously, we were thrilled that they enjoyed the games as much as we enjoyed creating them."

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- March 21, 2005 - Since the bursting of the dot com bubble in 2000, information technology careers have been viewed by many college students as almost certain paths to long-term unemployment. Although few are predicting a quick return to the drastic shortage in information technology workers seen in the late 1990's, there is cause for optimism among those who believe that computers, and not dogs, are man's best friend. Once again, information technology careers are topping the list of the best growth occupations for college graduates.

For occupations requiring a two-year college degree or higher, Computer Software Engineers, Computer Analysts, and Postsecondary Teachers are projected to have the largest increases in employment through 2012. The figures come from the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, which regularly estimates which occupational fields will see the largest growth in the number of jobs.

"It has been quite a roller coaster ride for computer science graduates," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com, the highest traffic career site used by students and recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them. "When we went live way back in 1996, most people did not know what a dot com was and no one could have envisioned the dot com bubble, the bursting of that bubble and resulting labor market crash, and now the slow and steady resurrection of that labor market." Rothberg believes that the improved job market for new graduates will continue for at least the next couple of years, but cautions them against choosing their major simply based upon what careers are hot today. "Hot professions come and go more frequently than some people change their socks. The key to professional fulfillment is to carefully examine your competencies, interests, and values and choose your career, industry, and employer based upon those factors."

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- January 31, 2005 - Since the Internet became commercially popular almost 10 years ago, users have been frustrated by how long it takes for them to receive responses to their emails to their favorite web sites. Even when they receive a reply, they're often canned responses that have little to nothing to do with the question posed by the user.

Some of the biggest offenders of failing to treat users with the respect and attention they deserve have been Internet job boards, perhaps because many of those boards have looked upon job seekers simply as traffic and therefore not deserving of the same individualized attention as the employers who pay to advertise their job openings and search the resume banks. If Internet career site CollegeRecruiter.com has its way, however, that attitude will soon change for the better.

"Since we went live in 1996, we've always placed great importance on answering each and every email within two business days with a real response. But even though our responsiveness far exceeded that of most of our competitors, we still found that job seekers wanted faster answers," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of Internet career site CollegeRecruiter.com. The solution was live, on-line chat. Now when a job seeker visits CollegeRecruiter.com, they can chat with a real, live customer service representative to find out how best to use the site or to ask career-related questions. The customer service representatives have been trained to provide concise answers to almost any such question. If they don't have the training to answer the questions, they bring in experts who do.

Rothberg believes that providing more service is good business. "The candidates who are the most sought after by employers tend to be the candidates with the most choices. They can afford to be choosy and aren't willing to accept less than excellent service from any organization with which they work. If they won't tolerate inattentive service in a restaurant, then they also shouldn't tolerate it from an Internet career site." And now there's no need.

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- January 28, 2005 - The trend toward a more educated workforce is alive and well. Many college and university students and recent graduates who are actively seeking employment are also seeking information about how to continue their education. Those with associate degrees from two year schools are looking at bachelor's degrees from four year schools and those with bachelor's degrees are looking to trade up even further by obtaining a master's degree.

"Since we launched in 1996, we've always had at least some information on our site about continuing education opportunities," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of Internet career site CollegeRecruiter.com. "But 18 months ago we saw a significant increase in the number of requests for more and better targeted information about continuing education options." After the School Finder section of CollegeRecruiter.com was enhanced, the number of requests jumped from a handful per month to a handful per day, an increase of about 3,000 percent. In December 2004, CollegeRecruiter.com began to market its School Finder separately, both to existing users and to new users. According to Rothberg, "CollegeRecruiter.com is now delivering information about continuing education opportunities to about 50 candidates per day, an increase of about 30,000 percent in just 18 months!"

Rothberg believes that the trend toward more education is driven largely by economics. "Those with degrees earn more than those without degrees, and those with higher degrees earn more than those with lower degrees. Also, as more Americans change careers more often, retraining becomes less of a luxury and more of a necessity. And there's little doubt that the boom in on-line education opportunities has been incredibly empowering to a huge segment of the population that for geographic, economic or other reasons have not been able to return to school but are now doing so in droves because they're able to learn at their own speed from the comfort of their living rooms."

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- January 14, 2005 - More college and university students and recent graduates who are actively seeking work expect to find it more quickly than those surveyed two years ago; however, results from last year are virtually unchanged, according to poll results released today by CollegeRecruiter.com, an online job listing service for students and recent graduates with zero to three years of experience.

The CollegeRecruiter.com poll asked 1,284 college students and recent graduates how many months they expect to be looking for a new job:

  • 25 percent very optimistically expected that it would take them one month or less. In February 2004, 25 percent felt the same way and in June 2003, 14 percent the same way.
  • 24 percent optimistically expected that it would take them two to three months. In February 2004, 22 percent felt the same way and in June 2003, 26 percent felt the same way.
  • 17 percent expected that it would take them four to six months. In February 2004, 20 percent felt the same way; in June 2003, 16 percent felt the same way.
  • 34 percent pessimistically expected that it would take them more than six months. In February 2004, 33 percent felt the same way; in June 2003, 37 percent felt the same way.

"We had no doubt that many job seekers were having much more success than those who were searching in 2003, but were disappointed that we saw a flattening out of that optimism in 2004," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "We believe that 2005 will see a return to the increased optimism by most job seekers, as employers put behind them the uncertainties of the U.S. elections and the impact of the devastating hurricanes in and around Florida."

"While we suspected that many job seekers were having much more success than those who were searching a year ago, these numbers are confirmation that the job market is improving for most, but not yet for all. We were disappointed to see the slight increase in the number of job seekers who expect it will take them six or more months to find a new job, yet gratified to see that many are optimistic about finding a new job within three months," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "While we have felt the labor market as a whole has been improving since May 2003, that feeling now seems to be shared by many of the students and recent graduates who use our site to help them find new jobs."

The CollegeRecruiter.com poll asked 1,043 college students and recent graduates how many months have they been looking for a new job:

Minneapolis, Minnesota, November 3, 2003 - More college and university students and recent graduates who are actively seeking work expect to find their next job through good, old fashioned networking than through any other method, according to the results of a poll released today by CollegeRecruiter.com, an online job listing service for students and recent graduates with zero to three years of experience.

"We were heartened to see that job seekers understand that their best chance for success is through networking," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "While we certainly believe that job seekers should use job boards such as CollegeRecruiter.com because they do work, we believe that even the best job boards and other such channels should be used as supplements to, and not replacements for, networking."

The CollegeRecruiter.com poll of more than 1,000 college students and recent graduates found that:

  • 26 percent expect to find their next job through networking with family or friend
  • 24 percent expect to find their next job through Internet job boards such as CollegeRecruiter.com
  • 19 percent expect to find their next job through newspaper classifieds
  • 12 percent expect to find their next job through the web site of the employer
  • 7 percent expect to find their next job through referrals from a current employee
  • 12 percent expect to find their next job through some other means

Minneapolis, Minnesota, September 4, 2003 - A majority of college and university students and recent graduates who are actively seeking work are willing to accept a job offer even if the pay-per-hour for the new job is less than at their previous job, according to the results of a poll released today by CollegeRecruiter.com, an online job listing service for students and recent graduates with zero to three years of experience.

"Unfortunately, the results were not surprising to our staff," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "Over the past couple of years, we've seen a real decrease in the number of employers actively recruiting students and recent graduates, whether that recruiting is on-campus, through newspaper or magazine advertising, or posting jobs on-line at career sites. As a result, students and recent graduates recognize that their bargaining power has been reduced, so there is a good chance that their pay will be also."

Rothberg, however, is optimistic. "Now that the worst of the Iraqi war is behind us, most of the employers with which we've talked are making plans to resume their hiring of students and recent graduates. Although we don't anticipate that fall recruiting will be as strong as it was in 1999 or even 2000, it should easily exceed the results that we saw post-9/11 in 2001 and then again in 2002."

The CollegeRecruiter.com poll of more than 1,000 college students and recent graduates found that:

  • 49 percent won't accept a pay cut;
  • 21 percent would accept a pay cut of between one and nine percent;
  • 18 percent would accept a pay cut of between 10 and 24 percent;
  • Six percent would accept a pay cut of between 25 and 49 percent; and
  • Six percent would accept a pay cut of 50 percent or more.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, May 17, 2006 - A decade ago, employers large and small often visited dozen of college campuses as that was the most effective way of recruiting college students. Now, these same employers are increasingly using tighter criteria to narrow down their lists of favorite colleges and allocating more resources to recruiting the same candidates on-line through job postings, resume searching, banner advertising, targeted email campaigns, and other methods. Recruiting costs have dropped, time-to-hire has shortened and acceptance rates have jumped.

The increasingly tight labor market has led to a reinvigoration of the War for Talent and with Baby Boomers about to retire en mass, it is easy to predict that the college-recruiting battleground is going to be one of the fiercest. As leading firms gear up to compete for the best graduating candidates, originality, planning, and execution will set the winners and losers miles apart. "Achieving a successful college recruiting program requires a clear, well defined plan composed of a number of separate yet related steps," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading job board site for recent graduates, college students and the employers who hire them.

To help your organization compete, on Thursday, June 8, 2006, 1 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Kennedy Information will be host a 90-minute interactive audio conference entitled, "Best Practices: How to Create a Successful College Recruiting Program." Participants will examine how to:

  • Identify external and internal factors affecting your program
  • Assess your past performance.
  • Describe your target audience.
  • Target schools.
  • Define the methods you will use to reach your target market.
  • Gain internal commitment for the college recruiting program.
  • Define the methods you will use to reach your target market.
  • Plan/schedule on-campus visits.
  • Plan/schedule on-site visits.
  • Execute your program.
  • Track your program.
  • Learn how to design their web site to address student concerns.
  • Examine the importance of having a successful internship program.

"We're excited to have Steven Rothberg as the featured expert in this Kennedy Information Recruiting Audio Conference," said Matt Lyons, Director of Recruiting Products. "We know he will provide great insight on the many nuts-and-bolts methods and components of a successful college recruiting program."

Registration for this event is $225 per phone line for subscribers to Kennedy Information's Recruiting Trends or Executive Recruiter News. Fee for non-subscribers is $275 per line. Registration for this event includes a PowerPoint Presentation and email access to Steven Rothberg before and after the event, plus a live Q & A period during the audio conference. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, May 10, 2006 - CollegeRecruiter.com announced today that it has acquired the Jobseeker's Revenge blog from Jim Stroud, a recruiter at Microsoft and the continuing author of the Jim Stroud 2.0 blog. Over 20,000 web pages link to the more than 650 pages of entries, comments, and podcasts at Jobseeker's Revenge. The blog was also nominated for the 2005 Best Blog Award by Recruiting.com. Terms of the transaction were not released.

"Since we launched in 1996, CollegeRecruiter.com has always placed a significant emphasis on developing top notch content for the students, recent graduates, employers, and schools that use our career site," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "This emphasis on content has been a primary driving force behind our success in being the highest traffic career site used by students and recent graduates and in our profitability. When Jim asked if we would be interested in acquiring his Jobseeker's Revenge blog, we immediately responded that we were. Jim is highly regarded by all involved in recruitment, especially those involved in on-line recruitment. His blog entries are insightful and will be valued by the candidates using our site now that Jim's content has been migrated to the CollegeRecruiter.com Insights by Employers Blog."

"As much as I enjoyed writing and editing Jobseeker's Revenge, my new position with Microsoft and continuing work on the Jim Stroud 2.0 blog simply did not allow me enough time for Jobseeker's Revenge," said Jim Stroud. "Yet I was unwilling to let it wither and die a slow death so decided that the best approach was to find a leading career site that shared my vision for wanting to help college students and recent graduates. I was gratified that CollegeRecruiter.com was as interested in my content as I was in making sure that my content continued to live and benefit these entry level candidates."

The hundreds of entries, comments, and podcasts on Jobseeker's Revenge have been imported into the CollegeRecruiter.com Insights by Employers Blog, which is written by recruiters and hiring managers from numerous employers. Visitors may choose to read only those entries and comments originally posted to Jobseeker's Revenge by clicking on Jim Stroud's name in the list of authors on the right side of every page of the CollegeRecruiter.com Insights by Employers Blog. Visitors to Jobseeker's Revenge will soon automatically be re-directed to the CollegeRecruiter.com Insights by Employers Blog.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 27, 2006 -- Technology changes such as blogs (web logs) make the employment world more "connected." On Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the Las Vegas Hilton, Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of http://www.CollegeRecruiter.com will join John Sumser, Founder and President of Interbiznet.com; Denis Smith, Talent Acquisition Manager of T-Mobile; and Jim Durbin, Director of Corporate Communications at Durbin Media Group in a panel discussion on why recruiting departments need to blog.

"Today's web-savvy candidates want to know the real scoop behind the companies they want to work for, and traditional employment sites that present a static and unresponsive face to the world won't cut it anymore," said Panel Moderator, Jason Davis of Recruiting.com. "If an organization's career site fails to speak to the needs and wants of the best candidates, then the site will actually discourage applications from highly qualified candidates," said Rothberg. "A blog can help develop an audience which will become interested in your knowledge, your experiences, and the reason you go to work each day. A blog will help you to build a pipeline of top level candidates who want to hear from you on a regular basis, even if they are not yet ready to make an employment change. In short, a blog will help you engage the star candidates - the ones that truly make a difference in any organization."

As the President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com, the highest traffic career site used by job-hunting students and recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them, Rothberg truly understands how important it is to build a sense of community. "Everything matters when it comes to your employer brand; everything matters when it comes to your ability to recruit and more importantly, to attract the best employees," said Rothberg. "Every interaction your organization has with prospective employees matters. Each moment of truth shapes how your employer brand is perceived in the labor market, and if a blog is done right, you will be able to communicate with potential employees on a regular basis simply because you are willing to put yourself out there and say, 'This is why we work here and this is why you should consider our company as your next place of employment.' If you're not using blogs as part of your recruiting strategy, then you're like most organizations - you're using a recruiting engine that is firing on only one cylinder."

During the panel discussion, Rothberg will provide real life examples on how the introduction last September of the award winning CollegeRecruiter.com Blog has enhanced the efforts of CollegeRecruiter.com to be the leading job board for college students and recent graduates. Currently, CollegeRecruiter.com has two award winning blogs and recently launched its sixth blog: CollegeRecruiter.com Insights by Resume Writing Experts Blog. These blogs are not about fulfilling journalistic fantasies. They're about putting a face to the organization and improving the ability of visitors to CollegeRecruiter.com to interact with the staff, clients, and candidates who use the site.

"We're excited to have Steven Rothberg as a speaker at the Kennedy Information's Recruiting 2006 Conference and Expo," said Matt Lyons, Director of Recruiting Products, Kennedy Information. "We know he will provide great insight on how and why employers should use blogs to advance their recruitment efforts, enhance their employment brands, and recruit those hard to find passive candidates."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 3, 2006 - A recent study by the Center for
Effective Organizations at the University of Southern California noted that
the crucial issue in allowing human resources to be a "strategic partner"
and not a "cost-center" is identifying which functions are optimally handled
in-house versus those handled by an outside provider. CollegeRecruiter.com,
the highest traffic career site used by job-hunting students, recent
graduates and the employers who want to hire them, announced today that its
President and Founder, Steven Rothberg, will speak at the HRO World East
Conference in New York City on April 27, 2006. At the HRO World East Conference
Rothberg and other key experts will discuss and dissect all of these
pressing, strategic issues.

"I'm thrilled to be part of an event that brings together all of today's
leading human resource issues, trends, and players in a highly-focused,
unprecedented forum to examine the future of HR", said Rothberg. "Many
organizations still do not understand recruitment process outsourcing is the
only tool available that provides the ability to improve operations while
cutting costs and releasing capital and time that can be invested wisely in
other core areas."

Along with seven other leaders in the multi-billion-dollar Recruitment
Process Outsourcing (RPO) field, Rothberg will be competing for the
attention of one of the country's most-active recruiters during the
conference's most popular session, "The RPO Dating Game." During the
session, Rothberg will deliver the knowledge and insight that will keep
companies strategically positioned to drive their businesses to new levels
of success. Rothberg may be asked to address issues such as which human
resource outsourcing trends will impact businesses the most, which human
resource strategies make a difference, what the employee/employer of the
future will look like, the nuts-and-bolts behind the CollegeRecruiter.com
pay-per-lead programs, and how CollegeRecruiter.com helps human resource
professionals effectively and efficiently connect with and engage their
target markets.

"Human resource professionals are being tested and leveraged like never
before," said Jay Whitehead, Publisher of HRO Today Magazine and Chairman of
the HRO World East 2006 Conference. "That's the reason behind this jam
packed event filled with tantalizing debates, in-depth case studies from
providers and their customers, leadership strategies, keynote speakers, and
a highly engaging RPO Dating Game Forum."

"We are pleased that the HRO World East 2006 panel of 'bachelors' features
Steven Rothberg of CollegeRecruiter.com," said Whitehead. "His reputation in
the industry and as a speaker will be a perfect fit for the career service
and human resource professionals who will attend the conference." In February,
Rothberg also participated at the HRO World West Conference in Los Angeles.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota (March 26, 2006) -- Approximately 70 percent of all jobs are found through networking. Yet career networking is often misunderstood and misused. "As simple as it may sound, networking can be a painfully, frustrating effort--especially when your goal is to find immediate employment." said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com.

"In the late 1990's and into 2001, candidates would send out 10 resumes hoping to get two or three responses, but they would instead get 20 responses, many from headhunters, whose business was booming like never before," said Rothberg. Jobs today are no longer easy to come by; and many college graduates find themselves 'on the bench' for weeks, then months. "It is more important now than ever that college students begin planting the seeds of their careers immediately," said Rothberg.

However, as Rothberg explains, the secret to successful networking is not what you do, but how you do it. The secret is tapping into resources that you already have. Building contacts or collecting names and numbers takes a few simple steps but building relationships is more time consuming as it requires more than passing and collecting business cards. "It isn't the occasional phone call, the holiday greeting card or remembering names of family you've never met," says Rothberg. "You cannot possibly build as many deep, lasting relationships in your life, as you may be able to cram names into your address book. Yet one good friend is often worth more than dozens of names whom you barely know and have little in common with."

In essence, Rothberg speaks of quality over quantity. It's an old theme, but a valid one. Here are CollegeRecruiter.com's seven steps college students can take today that will have a great payoff tomorrow:

  1. Volunteer and get involved in organizations you feel passionate about. By working together to reach a common goal, you are automatically building relationships.
  2. Gain hands on experience in your chosen field with an internship for either credit, nominal pay, or, if you're lucky, both. Many national and local organizations have internship programs.
  3. Get a part-time job in an environment in which you're planning to spend most of your career. It is the perfect opportunity to associate and connect with professionals within your chosen field.
  4. Adopt a mentor. This is especially important in college, when you're at a critical point in your career development. By associating yourself with someone already practicing in your selected field, you can learn all kinds of insights that you won't learn in the classroom.
  5. Get to know your teachers. Your professors can be invaluable sources of advice, guidance, and networking. Many professors have developed relationships in the business world as well as the campus community.
  6. Join professional student organizations and meet many influential professionals within your industry. Many professional and volunteer organizations have student chapters, especially on our nation's larger campuses.
  7. Think of whom else you know. "Through your intimates and family members, you probably have a strong network in place," said Rothberg. "The only problem is that this network may be asleep. You must wake it up and let them be aware of all you can do."

CollegeRecruiter.com reminds job seeking college students that with every relationship, every deed, and every time they go out and meet, greet and serve the needs of others, they are planting seeds. "Take the time to nourish these seeds and you shall be successful in your career and in life," said Rothberg. If you'd like more networking tips, go to www.CollegeRecruiter.com, register by posting your resume, and you'll receive a free copy of "The Last Guide To Networking You'll Ever Need" book.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, February 25, 2006 - CollegeRecruiter.com is helping the students and recent graduates who use its site to reduce their college jitters with some Olympic humor. CollegeRecruiter.com is the highest traffic career site for job hunting students and recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them. So its staff has come up with a way of helping to reduce the stresses facing these candidates: they can apply on-line to replace the current group of hockey players for Team USA, some of which expended more energy complaining about having to make their own travel arrangements for their wives (the horrors!) than they did in trying to put the puck in the net.

Soon after walking down that aisle, college graduates realize that the "real world" isn't so much fun. In today's highly competitive job market environment, some recent college graduates can get caught in a downward spiral of increasing their efforts just to meet rising expectations yet are met with no job acceptance satisfaction. Being without a job affects every part of life from what time you get up in the morning, to whom you see and what you can afford to do. Until doors of opportunity are opened, stress can be chronically draining--both physically and mentally.

When you feel powerless, you're prey to depression's traveling companions, helplessness and hopelessness. In this case, the origin of stress cannot be changed immediately. Therefore, finding ways to help maintain optimal physical and mental health is essential. "Learning to relax and laugh is one of the easiest ways to reduce stress," says Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "Share a joke with a friend, watch a funny movie at home, read the comics or, in this case, check out the entertaining CollegeRecruiter.com U.S. Hockey Team joke job posting and put some of that humor back into your life."

After taking a break from life's hardships and reading the U.S. Hockey Team joke job posting, check out CollegeRecruiter.com's network of career sites featuring tens of thousands of job openings and over 3,500 pages of employment-related articles, blog postings, and Ask the Experts questions and answers.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, February 20, 2006 - CollegeRecruiter.com, the highest traffic career site used by job-hunting students, recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them, announced today that Steven Rothberg, its President and Founder, has been invited to speak at the Southwest Association of Colleges and Employers (SWACE) annual conference in New Orleans, Louisiana next June. The city has been through some very trying times recently but is getting back on its feet and will be ready to host the 2006 SWACE Conference.

"I'm thrilled to be part of the 2006 SWACE conference," said Rothberg. "The other speakers, the venue, the organizers, they're all first rate and I look forward to working with SWACE for many years to come." During his presentation, Rothberg will discuss how career service offices and employers can best engage today's candidates through a highly interactive discussion about the best practices for the design of employment-related web sites. The discussion will first address how, in just ten years, the Internet has evolved from being a curiosity to one of the most critical elements for career service offices and employers alike.

About SWACE

The Southwest Association of Colleges and Employers is a non-profit, incorporated professional association which provides a link between higher education and the employers of college graduates. SWACE is one of seven regional placement associations affiliated with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the national professional association for career planning, placement and recruiting. The SWACE region encompasses six southwestern states: Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. The 2006 SWACE annual conference will be held from June 27 through 30, 2006, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Further information about SWACE is available at http://www.swace.org.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, February 17, 2006 - CollegeRecruiter.com, the highest traffic career site used by job-hunting students, recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them, announced today that it has implemented a new way to engage its users. CollegeRecruiter.com's President and Founder, Steven Rothberg said, "Although the CollegeRecruiter.com site was already quick and easy to use with many relevant job postings, employment-related articles, and other content than most candidates can ever hope for, we redesigned our site to make CollegeRecruiter.com even easier to navigate and to make the job postings, school information, blog entries, comments, and podcasts so obvious and appealing that visitors will not have any choice but to spend a significant amount of time gaining the knowledge and resources they need to find success."

Rothberg believes if a jobsite fails to speak to the needs and wants of the best candidates, then the site will actually discourage applications from highly qualified candidates. "This is only the beginning," said Rothberg. "The boat doesn't anchor here. CollegeRecruiter.com will continue to sail into new waters to identify new opportunities and to fulfill the promises we've made to our users." A month ago, when CollegeRecruiter.com was awarded two Recruiting.com Best Blog Awards, Rothberg promised to make the CollegeRecruiter.com Blog and the CollegeRecruiter.com Insights for Candidates Blog far more visible to the average visitor and for the blogs to play a defining role by helping to further distinguish CollegeRecruiter.com from its competitors. Today, with the re-launch of its site, CollegeRecruiter.com has taken fulfilled that promise.

CollegeRecruiter.com encourages students, recent graduates, employers and career service professionals to explore the newly enhanced site. CollegeRecruiter.com charges no fee for full access to its podcasts, blogs, and existing library of over 3,500 employment-related articles and Ask the Experts questions and answers.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, January 27, 2006 - Virtually every college in the country has an Office of Student Affairs. In these offices work professionals whose mission it is to make a positive difference in the lives of their students. The world of higher education is shifting from teaching to learning, greater accountability from and to its partners and stakeholders, and a general resurgence in undergraduate education. To stay current with these shifts, Student Affairs professionals understand that they need to engage in dialogue with key partners to help shape and contribute to strategic priorities that make a difference in the lives of students. And the premier forum for this dialogue is the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) Annual Convention, which is being held in Indianapolis, Indiana this March.

CollegeRecruiter.com, the highest traffic career site used by job-hunting students, recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them, announced today that its President and Founder, Steven Rothberg, will speak at the ACPA 2006 Convention.

"I'm thrilled to be part of an event that brings together all of today's leading Student Affairs issues, trends, and players in a highly-focused, forum," said Rothberg. "The tremendous work that these professionals accomplish every day is a testament to their dedication. They touch the lives of virtually every one of the college students and recent graduates who use our career site, so I'm happy to do anything that I can to help these professionals help these students and grads."

Rothberg's presentation, entitled "Podcasting: A Cutting-Edge Recruiting Tool to Catch Job-Hunting Students" is targeted at faculty, mid-level professionals, and senior-level professionals who are interested in issues related to career development, graduate students, and new professionals. In the interactive, nuts-and-bolts session, Rothberg will explain how podcasting (downloadable audio recordings) can be a cutting-edge tool for recruiting and career counseling. He'll demystify podcasting and illustrate how it truly catches the attention of today's mobile graduates. Most importantly, he'll help the Student Affairs professionals better understand how their organizations should use podcasting to communicate with students and how to snatch their attention when they're ready, willing, and able to offer it.

About ACPA:

ACPA, headquartered in Washington, DC at the National Center for Higher Education, is the leading student affairs Association that advances student affairs and engages students for a lifetime of learning and discovery. ACPA, founded in 1924 by May L. Cheney, has nearly 8,000 members representing nearly 1,500 private and public institutions from across the U.S. and internationally. In addition, members include companies and organizations who are engaged in the campus marketplace. Our members include graduate students enrolled in student affairs/higher education administration programs as well as faculty who are teaching and researching in this area to student affairs professionals from entry level to senior student affairs officers.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota, January 25, 2006 - A recent study by the Center for
Effective Organizations at the University of Southern California noted that
the crucial issue in allowing human resources to be a "strategic partner"
and not a "cost-center" is identifying which functions are optimally handled
in-house versus those handled by an outside provider. CollegeRecruiter.com,
the highest traffic career site used by job-hunting students, recent
graduates and the employers who want to hire them, announced today that its
President and Founder, Steven Rothberg, will speak at the HRO World West
Conference in Los Angeles this February. At the HRO World West Conference

Rothberg will also be participating at the HRO World Conference in New York.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota - January 14, 2006 - It seems so simple -- to be the
leading organization in your field, you must have the best people working
for you. But how do you attract and retain the people who truly make a
difference when the business of recruiting students and recent graduates is
so competitive? CollegeRecruiter.com, the highest traffic career site used
by college students and recent graduates and the employers who want to hire
them, invites organizations to shine a light on their best and brightest
recruiting and retaining ideas, as well as the ideas that did not meet
expectations. Whether the idea is new and innovative or tried and true,
Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com, wants to
learn about the methods employers use to improve their recruitment and
retention of college hires.

To remain competitive, businesses of all sizes and across all industries
must develop and implement creative programs and strategies to recruit and
retain top candidates while retaining and motivating current employees. Most
human resource managers feel that workforce recruitment and retention is a
primary concern because of the slowly improving economy, higher demand for
workers, and a workforce that has become confident in their ability to seek
and obtain alternative employment.

As the talent pool shrinks, it is imperative that immediate action is taken
to ensure businesses are properly prepared and staffed for the future. "In
this environment, college recruiting managers need to do everything that
they can to improve their recruitment and retention practices and a great
way to do that is to benchmark their practices against those of other
organizations," said Rothberg. "That's why CollegeRecruiter.com is creating
a section on our site entitled Employer Case Studies: What Works for
America's Top College Recruiters."

By participating in this new case study program, your organization will
receive considerable added and free exposure to the hundreds of thousands of
college students and recent graduates who use CollegeRecruiter.com every
year. All employers are encouraged to take part in this new case study
program as participation is free and the added publicity is priceless. Just
like its podcasts and existing library of over 3,500 content rich pages of
articles and Ask the Experts questions and answers, CollegeRecruiter.com
intends to charge no fee to visitors who want to read the case studies.

To participate, please email Steven Rothberg at Steven@CollegeRecruiter.com
with specific information about your recruitment and retention strategies.
While the information that you include is up to you, CollegeRecruiter.com
would like to receive information about how your organization institutes
retention activities, implements specific workforce growth goals and
recruitment strategies, and uses organizational resources and marketing
materials in its recruitment efforts. The more information that you provide,
the more likely it is that CollegeRecruiter.com will accept your offer to
participate in the case study program. CollegeRecruiter.com will promote all
accepted case studies in its award-winning CollegeRecruiter.com Blog and in its widely distributed press releases and articles.

p>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota - January 5, 2006 - From the mid-1990's to the summer of 2001, candidates using Internet job boards would apply to 10 jobs and expect to receive two or three responses. Instead, they would often receive 20 responses, many from headhunters whose business was booming like never before. Back then it was almost impossible to find a company that wasn't hiring. So close in years yet so far, far away from the realities of today's job market. Today, the job market appears the very antithesis of those glory days.

"Instead of stressing and worrying at such times, college graduates must rise to the occasion and meet the new challenges," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of Minneapolis-based CollegeRecruiter.com. "In this job race, the only survivors are those who fit themselves with a stellar resume and a die-hard attitude." To help graduates navigate through the job-hunting process's choppy waters, Rothberg offers examples of ten questions which human resource professionals are likely to ask during an interview:

  1. Why do you want to work for us?
  2. Why did you choose your college major?
  3. How has your college experience prepared you for a business career?
  4. What are your weaknesses and strengths?
  5. What were your most satisfying and unsatisfying internship experiences? If you did not participate in an internship, please explain why.
  6. Explain a time you had to deal with a high-pressure situation. How did you work through it and what were the results?
  7. What long- and short-term goals and objectives have you set for yourself? How close are you to achieving them? What action steps are you taking to achieve success?
  8. Our company has a mission statement that provides us with strategic direction. What is your mission statement?
  9. What do you know about our company and do you have any questions about our company that you would like answered?
  10. Why are you the best candidate for the position? You have 30 seconds to make your pitch and leave a lasting impression.

"The more you can make your experience vivid and memorable for the recruiter, the greater the odds are of advancing to the next stage of the interview process," said Rothberg. Graduates and soon-to-be graduates who are interested in mastering the job interview process will be happy to hear that CollegeRecruiter.com is partnering with Everything Communications to develop a white paper entitled, "The Job Interview Guide For Today's College Graduates." The report will provide graduates with many more questions for which to prepare as well as teaching the candidates how to structure their answers. CollegeRecruiter.com will begin distribution of the white paper prior to the May 2006 peak graduation season.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, Minnesota - January 4, 2006 - Many college graduates find themselves "on the bench" for months instead of being able to start their careers immediately after graduation. But it is now easier than ever for you to communicate to career development professionals, employers, and other college students and graduates the fears and the issues you face during your daunting job-hunting process. Employers and career development professionals can now gain a better insight on the issues that are important to today's young jobseekers with CollegeRecruiter.com's newly published blog, the "CollegeRecruiter.com Insights by Candidates Blog"

Many Internet job boards fail to treat users with the respect and attention they deserve. Perhaps many of those boards have looked upon job seekers simply as traffic and therefore not deserving the same individualized attention as the employers who pay to advertise their job openings. "If a jobsite fails to speak to the needs and wants of the best candidates, then the site will actually discourage applications from highly qualified candidates," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of the Minneapolis-based CollegeRecruiter.com. There is no better way to be in tune with the needs and wants of the candidates searching your site than listening to their screams for help in the company's new blog.

CollegeRecruiter.com successfully designed its site to be fast and easy-to-use with many relevant job postings and more employment-related articles and other content than most candidates could ever hope for. The site already had a successful staff written blog, the CollegeRecruiter.com Blog, which helped the company communicate better with its users. However, something was missing.

"Since going live in 1996, we have always searched for new ideas on how to make CollegeRecruiter.com more engaging for the user," said Rothberg. "Today, we've taken a big step toward that goal with the release of our new user-written blog, the 'CollegeRecruiter.com Insights by Candidates Blog.' I see it as a significant defining feature for our company."

Along with helping employers and career service professionals better understand the mindset of today's young jobseekers, the new blog should help establish a sense of community among jobseekers, and help them feel that they are not alone. Just like its podcasts and existing library of over 3,500 content rich pages of articles and Ask the Experts questions and answers, CollegeRecruiter.com charges no fee for full access to its already fast growing collection of job hunting thoughts, feelings, and experiences written by college students and recent graduates.

Both CollegeRecruiter.com's staff-written blog and the new "Insights By Candidates" blog were nominated for Best Blog Awards by Recruiting.com.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS-January 3, 2006-While there are millions of blogs, very few are
written by one of the principals behind a premium job board, and even fewer
are written by one of the principals behind a premium job board that is
primarily used by job-hunting college students, recent graduates, and the
employers who want to hire them. Out of the three categories that
CollegeRecruiter.com was nominated for, the Minneapolis based company,
recently won two Recruiting.com Best Blog Awards-a very high honor marking
excellence, creativity, and resourcefulness-- in the recent Recruiting.com
competition.

For the category "Best Recruiting Advice Blog", out of 571 respondents, 119
(20.8 percent) voted for the CollegeRecruiter.com Blog, and for the "Best Human Resources
Blog" category, 149 of the 488 respondents (30.5 percent) voted for the
CollegeRecruiter.com Blog. The CollegeRecruiter.com Insights by Candidates
Blog
, which was launched only a
few days before the start of voting was a runner up for the "Best Job Seeker
Blog Award". This was also an superb achievement given the age of the new
blog.

Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of CollegeRecruiter.com, credits winning the Best Blog Awards to
his unique ability to write from the perspective of both job seekers and
employers. According to Rothberg, "Most blog writers in the recruiting space
are third party recruiters (headhunters) and corporate recruiters. In both
cases, they tend to write from the perspective of the employer and that's
fine. There are also blogs written by jobseekers, and they tend to write
from their perspective. But there aren't too many blogs written by
principals of job boards, which is too bad because we're able to write from
both perspectives." The CollegeRecruiter.com Blog is not about fulfilling
journalistic fantasies. It's about putting a face to the organization, and
improving their site visitors' ability to interact with the principals.

"The contest wasn't all about winners and losers," said Jason Davis of
Recruiting.com. "It was an effort to recognize the organizations which
thrive on sharing their expertise and knowledge. The writers of these blogs
understand that they're building a community and learning as they go."

As the highest trafficked site used by job hunting college students and
recent graduates and the employers who want to hire them,
CollegeRecruiter.com truly understands how important it is to build a sense
of community. Since the induction of the CollegeRecruiter.com Blog on
September 14, 2005, Rothberg has added well over 100 entries. The 5,000,000
visitors per month to CollegeRecruiter.com are able to read and learn from
the entries and even post their own comments to the entries. Just like its
podcasts and existing library of over 3,500 content rich pages of articles
and Ask the Experts questions and answers, CollegeRecruiter.com charges no
fee for full access to its already fast growing, insightful collection of
blog articles.

"The boat doesn't anchor here, the CollegeRecruiter.com Blog will keep
sailing into new waters, and identifying new opportunities," said Rothberg.
"Those who create blogs, are just as much early pioneers as those who were
creating websites in 1996." Early in 2006, Rothberg plans to make his blogs
far more visible to the average visitor and for the blogs to play a central
role in distinguishing the CollegeRecruiter.com site from those of its
competitors.
