Stamford, CT. June 23, 2009 -- CollegeRecruiter.com is pleased to announce that WEDDLE's LLC, the world's largest publisher of print guides to the 100,000+ job boards now operating on the Internet, has selected it as a Top 100 site. Called the "Zagat" of the online employment industry by the American Staffing Association, WEDDLE's released its selections in conjunction with the publication of its 2009/10 Guide to Employment Sites on the Internet.

Weddle's Top 100 Job Boards Award iconWhy should job seekers care about this news? Because job boards work.

  • In a recent survey of 17,000+ working men and women, using a job board was identified as the single best way to find a job in today's tough environment. Over one-third of the respondents said they found their last job on a job board--more than four times greater than the next highest response--and almost two-thirds said they expected to find their next job that way.
  • In the same survey, eight-out-of-ten employers said that new hires sourced online were among their best employees. For that reason, over a third of the respondents were filling half of their openings through job boards and over a quarter were actually filling three-quarters of their vacancies that way.

The challenge for working men and women and employers alike is figuring out which sites to use. The Top 100 list is one way to do that. The Guide describes each site in the Top 100 with a detailed profile of its services, features and fees for both job seekers and employers. It also includes a directory of over 10,000 other job boards organized by career field, industry and geographic focus.

"Our Top 100 employment sites are the elite of the job board industry," says WEDDLE's Publisher Peter Weddle. "They have the strongest brands, the best services and the most distinguished track records of the sites we've seen on the Web. Are there other good sites out there? Of course. But the Top 100 selectees are truly in a class of their own."

"We're thrilled to again be recognized by WEDDLE's as one of the top job boards," said Steven Rothberg, president and founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. "Peter is one of the industries most prominent and respected voices so to receive such positive feedback from him and his organization are most gratifying."

The site selection methodology included a comprehensive review of information submitted by the sites describing their features, services and fees as well as information provided by job seekers, employers and recruiters who have used the site. In addition, each site was visited to assess its user experience and level of maintenance.

Session Description:

Since the days of the AOL, "You've Got Mail," savvy recruiters have utilized email technology to reach current and prospective employees. But is email a dinosaur? Take a look at what Barack Obama's campaign did to recruit their target audience-- and recruit voters. They had a dedicated page for mobile content with wallpapers, ringtones and even an SMS alert service that tells you about local events, updates, and other tidbits to keep you involved and immersed in Obama. Can you do the same for your company through the utilization of mobile technology? Your workforce is global, virtual and tech savvy - shouldn't your human capital department reflect these trends? Join us to learn the latest, and the future of, mobile technology. We'll decipher the terminology, the costs, and the potential benefits. We'll learn how a little knowledge can keep your company ahead of the curve-- and attract and retain the best and the brightest in the talent wars.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, June 11, 2009 - In response to recent reports that job seekers are struggling to find jobs, CollegeRecruiter.com compiled lists of the five best and worst states for finding internships and entry level jobs. The data was gathered through a state-by-state search on the site; the lists will be updated every month to help students and entry level job candidates know how many opportunities are available to them and in which states.

While there were many states that showed a slight reduction in the number of listings they provided, others had as much as 41% fewer listings than this time in May. Despite that, there are still scores of internships and entry level jobs ready and waiting for the right candidate to apply. Except for Washington, D.C. and Massachusetts, larger states, which traditionally account for the largest number of entry level job and internship listings, showed a gain or loss of less than 10% of the listings they provided this time in May.

The states with the largest number of internship and entry-level job listings on CollegeRecruiter.com in June are:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, June 5, 2009 - In response to recent inquiries, CollegeRecruiter.com has re-launched its Ask the Experts blog. Every week, a group of experts from around the country gives their responses to questions that have been gathered from a variety of sources, such as students, job seekers and employers. Sometimes the experts write articles of their own, which are also open to comments.

Regular reports on site traffic indicate overwhelmingly that besides looking for jobs, visitors to CollegeRecruiter.com also want as much information as they can get about writing a great resume, acing a job interview, negotiating for the best salary and benefits and the proper way to follow up after interviews are completed. The time could not better for anyone with valuable knowledge on any one of these subjects to be a part of something that's specifically designed to mentor and guide those who are new to job searching and to those who are uncertain if they're using best, most effective methods in their quests for jobs or internships.

By participating in the Ask the Experts blog, contributors are able to gain added exposure for themselves, their companies and their Web sites or blogs. The questions they answer cover a wide variety of career-related topics, such as how to dress for an interview, resume writing, salary negotiation and whether it's a good idea to go to graduate school. Anyone who signs up to be a regular contributor will be in good company.

Internship expert, Penny Loretto, has already started contributing. "As a frequent visitor and contributor to CollegeRecruiter.com, I became interested in participating as a contributor [to Ask the Experts] because I value this resource and I believe that students really want a place where they can get professional answers to their personal career-related questions," said Loretto. "The Ask the Experts blog provides a resource for students to get several answers to their questions from professionals in the field and this information will hopefully help them to make better career-related decisions."

Game Theory Group CEO, Vin McCaffrey, has also answered several questions. "CollegeRecruiter.com has long been considered an outstanding resource for undergraduates, graduate students and recent college graduates as they prepare for their career search. The resurrection of 'Ask the Experts' creates a great medium to answer questions that are completely relevant for the recent college graduate," McCaffrey said enthusiastically. "Personally, I love the Q and A format - the questions are asked from the perspective of the candidate and as the industry experts share their experiences and insight, their intent is to help ease the anxieties associated to a job search. We realize how challenging it is to land a job, particularly in this economy. I know how proud I am to be on the panel with my colleagues and hope that we can help those job candidates gain a bit more clarity and confidence in their job search."

And executive recruiter, Dwain Celistan, has graciously shared his knowledge. "Ask the Experts blog is a great place for job seekers. It provides a safe environment to ask a question and get credible perspective from knowledgeable professionals," said Celistan. "As the Career Acceleration Coach, I find it important to help talented people realize their goals. This forum is a great place to provide input to one person, but the feedback may help many more. The combination of perspectives allows the reader to think about their situation differently. I know many persons will make wiser decisions because of the input they get from the 'pros'."

Loretto, McCaffrey and Celistan are only a few of the experts taking the time to offer their insights and advice to interested students and job seekers.

There is always room for one more expert who's interested in commenting on one or more of the topics discussed in the blog. So, anyone who feels he or she is an expert in a particular area, like recruiting, personal branding or interviewing - either as an employer or a candidate - is welcome to be a contributor to Ask the Experts. Simply get in touch with content coordinator, Candice Arnold, to be added to the list.

(June 4, 2009 -- Minneapolis, Minnesota) CollegeRecruiter.com, the premiere information source for college students and recent graduates seeking employment opportunities and an award-winning job board, recently partnered with HashJobs.com to "feed" hundreds of thousands of internships and entry-level jobs to Twitter through the HashJobs.com job aggregator.

Jason Davis of RecruitingBlogs.com and HashJobs.comHashJobs.com's goal is simple and straightforward: to deliver real-time career search, authenticated jobs and an easy, direct application process. College students and graduates will now find CollegeRecruiter.com's jobs as a real time stream at Twitter.com/EntryLevelJob and HashJobs.com.

"We're excited to be partnering with CollegeRecruiter.com to get their jobs onto Twitter," said Jason Davis, founder of HashJobs. "We look forward to developing partnerships with such leading organizations which provide quality jobs for applicants."

By working directly with high-level job distributors like CollegeRecruiter.com and employers, Hashjobs acts as an aggregator, pulling in every feed with the #jobs or #job tag. By authenticating their job openings, HashJobs.com hopes to "cut down on the clutter" and provide a more positive candidate experience.

"What makes this partnership exciting is the fact that grads can now see all the opportunities available to them in a real time medium without having to wade through low-quality bogus jobs, and MLM opportunities," said Steven Rothberg. "CollegeRecruiter.com has always been proud of the integrity of its postings and now we have an exciting new way to get them to our potential users."

"We're very happy that CollegeRecruiter.com decided to use HashJobs to represent their openings on Twitter. It's our goal to ensure that when people see #jobs on the twitter icon, they recognize that the job is legitimate and real," said Davis.

By partnering with HashJobs.com, companies like CollegeRecruiter.com leverage the capacities of a branded Twitter account. Employers or distributors can easily "retweet" job postings or use the Twitter account to carry their employment-branding message and direct candidates to their own employment portals or application tracking systems.
