Question:

I recently applied for an internship by submitting the company's application form. One of the questions asked if I have a driver's license. I answered yes because I had a temporary license. After submitting the application form, my license was revoked. Because my application form was accurate when I completed it, do I need to tell the company anything? Even if I don't need to, should I tell them about the change?

Answer:

Is the question about honesty or is it about getting a job? Did the job you applied for need a driver's license? When you signed the application, you agreed that everything on the application was true to your knowledge at that particular time. Should you go out of your way to contact the company? I am not sure. If you tell them, it may exclude you from the position. On the other hand they may be impressed with your honesty. I'm not sure what the outcome of that would be. I think the whole thing depends on the type of job you applied for. If the company does contacts you by all means, tell them what happened. If the company does not contact you, wait a while and think about the various scenarios and do what feels right.
