Make sure to get the interviewers business card. Remember to say thank you. For your own sanity it is okay to ask what their hiring timeline is. This will allow you some sense of when you could expect to hear from them.

The interviewer has taken time out of their schedule to interview you so always follow-up with a quick thank you note. This can be either an email or a card. If you want you can rework any questions that you feel you didn't answer well or you can reiterate some of your strong points in your thank you.

Originally from Canada , Lochlann Boyle received his undergraduate degree in History from Queen's University in Kingston , Canada . After completing his Masters degree in International Studies at the University of Warwick in England, Lochlann returned to Canada to work for a number of different non-profit organizations including the World Wildlife Fund and Fosters Parents Plan.
In 1998 Lochlann came to Washington to work with the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy (IMTD). As Project Director at IMTD, Lochlann managed the South Asia program, which won the UN blue ribbon award for peacebuilding. Traveling extensively throughout the region Lochlann lectured on peacebuilding and conflict resolution in Sri Lanka , Pakistan and India .
After two years at IMTD Lochlann took a position as Business Development Specialist with a large international consulting firm. After securing over $20 million in USAID funded contracts Lochlann moved to his current position where he advises graduate students at American University 's School of International Service about careers in international affairs.
