Abigail Butler-Sands is employed as the Job Placement Officer at the Bahamas Technical & Vocational Institute in Nassau, Bahamas . She has held this position for the past five years. Prior to this she worked as a Welfare Officer at the Department of Social Services in the Bahamas .

Mrs. Butler-Sands obtained three Bachelor of Arts Degrees from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, USA in the subjects: Public Communication, Political Science and Psychology. Mrs. Butler-Sands Completed an Advanced Certificate at the College of the Bahamas in Social Work and recently she completed a Masters of Science Degree in Human Resource Management at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, USA.

She feels that it is very important to constantly upgrade your skills so that you would be able to compete in this fast moving technical system that we presently live in. To this end she attempts to attend an International Conference at least once each year.
