Anita Moses has a Masters degree in Education from Adelphi University and a
BA in Political Science from York College at the CUNY. Her educational
background includes extensive work with York College's Student Support
Services Program, the New York City Board of Education, Wake Tech Community
College and Syntel Inc.
With the New York Urban League's Community Achievement Projects in Schools
(CAPS), Anita was responsible for increasing school attendance and lowering
dropout rates for "at-risk" students where she developed a unique program
which encouraged parents to participate in students' achievement of their
educational goals. She also handled case management, the development of
cultural activities, and signing qualified speakers for these events. New
York Urban League's Community Achievement Projects in Schools (CAPS) is a
collaborative educational project between the United Way of New York City,
the Board of Education and the NY Urban League.
Anita also taught for the NYC Board of Education and Wake Technical
Community College. She has helped students achieve academic goals and
navigate the college admission process by counseling students on the
admission process.
As Syntel's training coordinator Anita worked with project managers from
around the globe organizing Project Management, Advanced Leadership, PMI
Preparation, Basic Java, Advanced Java, Object Oriented Analysis and
Design, RMI CORBA classes all over the US and India. Through the Project
Management Program Anita has guided several project managers through the
certification process. Syntel's Project Management Program is in
conjunction with the Project Management Institute (PMI) consisting of
intensive coursework, on-the-job training, and a mentoring program. She
provided assistance with seminars, educational programs and professional
certification.
With Anita's extensive background in education, she is currently lending
her expertise as the editor of the Careers and Education section of
New2USA.com, a new web community designed to provide robust, how-to information for students and professionals new to the USA. The entire site changes daily and features departments such as:
