New York Life’s Summer Internship Program is a structured 12-week program starting on May 24th and ending on August 13th. It will provide the intern with:

THIS POSITION:
The intern will be assigned to assist Data Center Operations’ staff with providing computer hardware, software and technical support to various technology infrastructure platforms, applications and business systems. Under the direction of the Shift Manager, the intern will be responsible for the following scope of work duties:
• Supporting data center hardware components, operating system software, and application software
• 24X7 Monitoring of business critical systems (This position will NOT require night shift work)
• Providing end user support in various levels
• In addition, intern may assist data center infrastructure hardware installations (racking and stacking), cable installs, documentation and other incident and problem management processes.

OBJECTIVES:
• The intern will have gained an overview of the role of Computer Operations and the technical support functions in both the Command Center and the Print Management / Distribution Function (PMDS)
• The intern will have completed a project to update and make current the existing Operations Documentation, Recommended Actions Database to prepare for a consolidation into the SRC knowledgebase.
