FARO Technologies, Inc. is continuing to develop new products that will revolutionize the high-tech measurement industry. We are seeking an Applied Mathematician to create mathematical models; computer simulations and production procedures related to our state-of ?the-art metrology products. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Masters in Applied Mathematics, preferred and hands-on experience with numerical analysis, optimization and algorithm design. This position is located in Lake Mary, (Orlando) FL.

Develop mathematical models and production procedures related to the calibration and compensation of products, making decisions based on conclusions for which there is little precedent.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop mathematical models and computer simulations of potential end-user product errors used in the design and development of new products.
2. Perform statistical studies of new product model parameters. Establish specifications for accuracy.
3. Develop procedures and software to compensate, characterize and calibrate products. Document results in new or established databases. Analyze results and develop new compensation schemes that improve product accuracy and stability.
4. Write production procedures pertaining to calibration and compensation and provide support to production personnel in order to diagnose errors.
5. Identify and evaluate new technology, determining how it may be applicable to the organization's product line or operations. Conduct research on new technology, which may benefit organization and determine its capabilities and applicability to the organization's product line. Make recommendations for acquisition of new technology when indicated.
6. Provide technical advice within field of expertise to other organization personnel as may be requested. Evaluate current processes and procedures, recommending and implementing changes where indicated and approved.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Use mathematical software, statistical software, and compilers.

REQUIREMENTS:
? Master's degree in Applied Mathematics, PhD preferred.
? Hands-on experience with numerical analysis, optimization and algorithm design.
? Hands-on experience in modeling and optimization of complex technological systems
? Experience with C/C++ is a plus
? Must be eligible to work in the USA such that FARO would not require to provide sponsorship

COMPENSATION AND OTHER:
? $65,000 to $75,000 depending upon qualifications and experience. This position is also eligible for an "up to" 10% discretionary annual bonus.
