Apply your analytical expertise in a truly unique way as an Information Review and Release Analyst (IRRA); responding to customer requests for the release of sensitive information. IRRAs support critical information sharing activities throughout the Intelligence Community. Additionally, IRRAs are responsible for programs relating to the public release of previously classified information under provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, the Privacy Act, related laws and Executive Orders. IRRAs are also involved in review and release programs relating to historical collections and publications.

Minimum requirements
include a bachelor's and/or master's degree in history, political science, international affairs, library science or equivalent work experience.

Candidates should also possess:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good teamwork skills


All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.

To be considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegal drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.
