Procom Services is currently seeking a Patent Attorney for a full time position based in Raleigh, NC for our client. This position requires the following:
Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesRegistered Patent Attorney
Previous Patent Litigation and Prosecution Experience
Managing Patent Portfolio
Have knowledge of patent data base software
Bachelors in electrical or computer engineering helpful
Deal with complex issues
Prosecution:
* Preparing and filing new patent applications based on invention disclosures from inventors
* Managing a docket of existing patent applications (US and Foreign) including prosecuting (responding to Office Actions - including written responses and telephone interviews with the USPTO, and directing the efforts of Foreign associates with regard to the foreign applications) those patent applications until those applications issue as Patents
* Conducting and reporting patentability searches on inventions based on invention disclosures (including meetings to determine whether to file patent applications on invention disclosures based on the search results)
* Inventor Education – work with inventors on patent law issues to increase understanding of the processes necessary in preparing and prosecuting patent applications
* Searching, Preparing, Filing and Prosecuting Trademark Applications until those Marks register.
Litigation:
* Manage on-going litigation
* Work with outside counsel to draft and negotiate IP agreements including confidentiality clauses, joint development and licensing agreements
* Assist upper management with developing litigation strategy
