Sr. Applications Development Specialist / Applications Project Manager
Responsibilities:
The specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Sr. Applications Development Specialist (Strength) is responsible for providing technical and applications support to selected paper mill and corporate customers. This role is responsible for supporting specific sales opportunities, work with sales to insure that applications follow best practices and deliver value for Hercules customers. You will need to work in a collaborative manner across sales, SBU and R&D to produce results. The location for this position is flexible.
Duties to include:
· Safe application design
· Knowledge transfer
· System audits
· Documenting program technical results
· Capturing the results for presentation to customers and new technology advancement.
Qualifications:
Strength Applications Specialist:
- Minimum 4 yr. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or paper science and be experienced in laboratory test procedures, data collection and management
- Paper machine experience is a must.
- 5+ years of experience of chemical sales or chemical technical service experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry.
- Collaboratively work with sales the SBU and customer to advance Hercules Paper Technologies Strength product line in North America
- Thoroughly understand the customer's strategy, objectives including the needs of the customer's customer.
- Manage key strategic projects that advance product line.
- Provide service, technical support and troubleshooting for our customers.
- Develop and communicate technical application best practices
- Build strategic relationships and loyalty with our customers.
- Enhance our customer's profitability.
- Identify and implement sales strategies to effectively grow Hercules' business and position.
- Work with the sales team to identify new business opportunities.
- Grow business through the advancement of new technologies and sales funnel management. Requirements:
- Adhere to Hercules and customer safety policies and procedures and promote safety to the team.
- BS in Chemical Engineering, Pulp and Paper, Chemistry or equivalent.
- Ability to work individually and lead a team.
- The candidate must possess excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to collect, analysis and package technical data to reflect a strong customer value proposition.
- Proven track record in developing wet-end or strength programs a plus.
- A proven track record of sales success and strong technical skills is desired for this position.
- Must be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- The residence location for this position is flexible, 65% travel is expected.
- To be employed, permanent residency status in the is required or otherwise authorized by the Attorney General.
- Valid Drivers License.
