This is a great direct hire opportunity that is located in Carlsbad, CA. This position will perform a variety of technical functions related to the calibration, alignment, fabrication, assembly and modification of laser assemblies and optics in accordance with established practices, procedures and product/process documentation. Perform operational tests on systems to ensure conformance with product specifications. Testing of products may involve use of complex and/or specialized test set-ups and equipment. Essential duties include the following: Assemble and align laser and/or subassemblies. Test station and equipment set-up. Unit adjustment, alignment and calibration, simple troubleshooting and repair of sub-assembly failures. Opto-mechanical assembly according to work instructions. Inspection of optical sub-assemblies. Complies with health and safety policies and procedures. Supports company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions. Equipment Utilized: Laser controllers; Power meter, oscilloscope, spectrometer; Personal computer; Assembly hand tools; Work center specific software; Laser safety goggles; Clean room smock, booties, gloves and bonnet. One year certificate from college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills and Abilities include: Word, Excel, work center specific software, Laser specific terminology and physics terms.
