At least 5 years of systems or programming experience, along with Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience is required. Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and software developer tools, along with technical knowledge of BCBST's third party applications (Facets, FileNet, Peoplesoft, etc.) Windows, middleware and database connectivity are required. Must be able to work well with others and be able to build and maintain good interpersonal relationships. Must have highly developed verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function as a technical team member for a team that is responsible for acquisition, integration and implementation of client server (C/S) applications, including distribution of C/S application software via SMS. Should show strong initiative and strong self-motivation. Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Working knowledge of VisualBasic, Java, Sybase, DB2 and Oracle would be a plus. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, and implementing the purchase, installation, and maintenance of hardware and software required by I/S Systems and Programming staff for implementation of client/server applications.
