Business Communication Consultant
Job Purpose
This position reports to Business Markets Sales Management. The Business Communication Consultant's (BCC) primary focus is on the small business market, defined as those businesses with 1-10 employees. The BCC manages all aspects of the sales process within the target market. BCCs will be assigned a territory, a module of accounts and act as the business subject matter expert in an assigned retail store. The majority of time will be spent on customer appointments (minimum of 5 per day) and prospecting for new customers (minimum of 40 contacts per week).
Attendance is required in this position.
Essential Functions
Business Sales / Activity Management (85%)
Developing sales (account) plans, position with customers, understanding customer needs, designing solutions, presenting proposals and closing sales
Following overall segment sales strategies as well as specific account sales strategies in order to achieve assigned sales objectives
Ensuring the accurate ordering and installation of products and services
Attaining assigned sales commitment including: protection of revenue sold, generation of new revenue, and ensuring customer satisfaction
Advocate for customer needs with other CBT processes in order to develop new sales opportunities
Completely understand and communicate competitor strategies, strengths and vulnerabilities to meet sales objectives
Developing / Maintaining general levels of product / service expertise
Effectively and efficiently working with sales support resources in order to meet customer needs and requirements
Continuing Education / Administration (15%)
Attend meetings related to programs established by sales management team
Ensure all administration up to date accurate and timely (ie BMW, NOD, OFM etc)
Attend scheduled training sessions
Education
Four years of High School or equivalent
Four years of College Preferred
Experience / Background
No experience to 1 year
Previous Job Experience
Experience in a competitive sales environment preferred
Special Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional appearance and etiquette
Knowledge of consumer telecommunication products is a plus
Superior listening skills
