Networking During Break


Winter break is a great time to network with alumni and professionals currently working in a specific career field that is of interest to you. First of all, you can make a list of potential people you can contact and then call them and ask to schedule an informational interview. You might try checking out alumni at your college or calling local organizations or agencies and ask to speak with someone currently working in your area of interest. Prepare a 30 second elevator speech to introduce yourself and then ask to schedule an informational interview. The interview can be done over the phone or in person.
