No Surprise There
I was really trying to get into Lesley and thought about how life would be up in Boston. Nevertheless, I received a letter today telling me that I wasn't accepted. I tore up the letter and shrugged it off. There are other graduate programs out there that I can apply to; it's just that my GPA isn't so outstanding. I'll try anyways and keep saving money towards something that'll probably never happen.
Oh, well. Off to the races I go again.

Just a minute. Did the letter say "you were not accepted" or did the letter say "we have wait listed you?" Which one did it say? There is a definite difference between the two statements. The first is, yes, a rejection. But the second is a provisional acceptance. You got an acceptance if it was saying you've been wait listed.
You blame your GPA for not being accepted. However, there are things that affect one's GPA, positive things. You were the president of a school organization and ran it successfully for x number of semesters. You headed up the campaign on something. You were interning at a company while still studying on a full load [more details, more detail].
The other thing is when you submit your personal statement, you want to bring out the positive things you've been doing with your life. Those things reflect on the person you are and the quality of the student the university will be accepting.
Yes, you're a little disappointed. It's understandable. Apply to Lesley again. Talk to the Admissions Officer beforehand in order to learn more about what they're looking for in a student. Ask questions about their interest in having a person like you. Incidentally, why do you want to take the advanced degree from Lesley? What do they have to offer that isn't available at any other school? How would you make a difference in the entering class?
You've got sour grapes right now. With the right determination and drive, with the right strategies and positive goals, a lot of things are possible. That's the first step -- keep a positive attitude -- a winner's attitude.
