Should I Write for This Blog?

I'm not really sure if I am supposed to be writing on this blog because I feel like I have nothing to offer here. It seems like everyone else has a ton of things going on that someone worthwhile could read but I don't. I'm not really sure. I have more personal things that go on in my life - wedding plans, moving, and graduating. I haven't even really thought about a job or anything like that. It's too stressful to worry about things like that which I cannot control. I am fiathful in believing that the Lord will show me where it is I am supposed to work and what I am supposed to do with my life. I guess that's why I don't worry about getting a job.

Although I've not commented very much on your posts, I've been reading your words. My assessment of these most recent words is that you're going through some mild depression about how to go about finding the right job and career for you. There are quite a number of things to be taken into consideration. You're looking at the relevance of an English Lit major and degree compared to owning a bookstore or going into writing.

Most likely your heart is saying, "Take a break!" but your brain is saying, "Do *something*!" It's difficult to follow two masters.

Do a first baby step. Research the career options available in publishing. Your English Lit degree is a bonus because it has trained you to look at the story and its development in a unique way. You can elucidate on certain trends and how the story was developed. You can do many other things that you haven't yet admitted to yourself. Research publishing careers in the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Outlook Handbook (http://www.bls.gov/bls/occupation.htm). Then blog about what you found and what seems to match some of the interests you have.

Trust me, you have a lot to share with the rest of us.

I appreciate your thoughts and that you are reading my entries. Well I hope that my employers do look at that and take it into consideration. It's most benificial. I love books and love writing which is why I wanted to get my degree. I plan to further my education but first I'm getting married and probably going to have babies in the midst of going back to school, but my fiance and I will be married about before that happens.

Thanks for all your help. :)

Everyone has their own special insights and stories to tell. If you feel like, go ahead and share your thoughts or vocalize your job goals. Putting it in writing might help you focus on what you truly want to achieve and accomplish.
