Do you have any suggestions on what it might cost to hire a recruiting firm though? I have a very small business and hiring is probably the biggest challenge I have. I really have to use my time running the business, not learning how to read potential candidates. Then even when you have screened and interviewed a lot of people you still don't know if they're capable until they are doing it, and already getting paid by you for it.

Not to mention if the cost of hiring a consultant outweighs the time you'd spend (which the term consultant seems to give that perception), then there is no getting around doing it yourself. It seems like its just as hard getting past the upfront cost of a consultant as it is dealing with the long term cost of turn over.
