Job seekers, a quality resume won’t do you any good unless it is received by a recruiter or an employer in the right format. The following post lists four reasons why the Word format should be used when submitting your resume.Since Microsoft Office 2007 allows candidates the option to save files as PDF versions, I have noticed an increasing number of resumes in .PDF format. I’ve also noticed resumes that are scanned copies of a paper resume, often resulting in a .JPG or .PNG image file. By now, most people know that LinkedIn is the world’s most popular professional networking site. Yes, I have drunk the Kool-Aid and am a big fan.
However, while LinkedIn has many useful capabilities, many people do not use it properly. This ranges from not having an account/profile at all or overusing it. If LinkedIn is not appropriately utilized it will be ineffective or even counterproductive. Also, given the fact that recruiters will often check out your LinkedIn profile, it is critical to have a positive LinkedIn presence.
