ICANN should definetely set stricter demands to tld registries after being assigned a top level domain. It's in everyone's interest that the domains are used.
I believe we have only registered a couple of .jobs through the years, but it would have a much larger potential if restrictions were lowered. It's possible both to have trademark holders get their .jobs and afterwards let other businesses have a go. Just look at the succesful launch of .co

Steven,
Thanks for staying on top of the issue. I too received an email today from Ray. From a very high level and simplistic point of view I just don't understand how it is that Employ Media can have this much control over this process and be allowed to get away with it. To charge $250 for a non-refundable application and provide no criteria for an approval process is completely beyond comprehension. I think this process still only serves one side of the HR community, direct employers. They are the only ones who will risk and most likely get approved for any of these domains. I don't see many folks in the job board or staffing community writing a non-refundable check to employ media with a cross your fingers and hope I get my domain process. Bizarre!
